edit: I don't know if it matters, but they were both zero bytes when I did this. You may have to open the global3.lsg file with notepad and delete anything there to play it safe.
Thank you for the response.
I'm trying to mod my own game a bit. I hate the idea of only reaching a fraction of 50th level, for instance, so I'm trying to adjust the experience tables to have reaching max level be possible in a thorough playthrough. I'll let you know if I find where to edit the starting gold, but you'd have to start a new game for this to work.

if you are trying to edit skillsets for your characters, here's a useful reference:

gold is easily edited in the first set of parameters for your savegame, once converted to xml format.
then just convert back and you're good to go.
I use notepad+ as an editor for xml; works great.
you can also modify almost anything else in the game; including all the relics, spells, abilities, skill disributions and levels for each character, etc.
if you are modding skills in a savegame, don't forget you need to also do that in the appropriate CSV character file.
example, if you want to have your bladedancer have master archery, you need to BOTH edit the csv character file, and add the archer skill for bladedancer to the group that includes "master" skills, AND edit the absoltute skill value and level in the savegame file.
Thank you very much. I'm going to try it tommorow. I never could get the built-in console to work so this should surely help.
let me know if you need some help figuring out which files are which and where, etc.
When I glanced at the pictures at the forum post (supplied with your provided link) it looked simple enough. Then when I downloaded the file and there were no instructions/read me text, I was like "what the heck do I do with this?". However, later in the forum post there is a link to a You Tube video explaining these type of programs so it should not be a problem. With spring in full swing now I have so much outdoor work to do I have no irea when I'll have a chance to learn how to use it.
