Solo and coop are different?
So I bought the game, played it for about a half hour. Pretty fun.

I played it on my own to get a feel for it and got through the opening and a handful of levels. Since I am eventually going to coherse someone to play this with me for some local/couch coop, I tried having a second controller join in. It didn't work.

I quit out of the game, turned the controller on again, opened the game again. It worked! Tried loading up the game, and it started the opening sequence all over again.

Tried again single player, and it started me where I had left off before.

I'm guessing this means that single player and coop operate off of different "save games". Meaning I can't play single player, and then have a coop partner join in where I had left off. And visa versa, I can't play with a coop partner and then continue that same games progress alone.

Do I have that right?

Yeah, I don't quite have the game yet but according to what I have heard, single-player and co-op have different levels. Not really different but just altered so you use your co-op buddy more.

Yeah you have it right, the solo and coop modes are considered different parts of the game, so level progress in one doesn't translate over to the other. Also this means that since you can only collect gems once in the campaign, that you can get twice the gems by playing both solo and coop.

Looking at other topics, it sounds like local coop doesn't save progress for anyone but Player 1? That seems a little weak, for a game that seemingly embraces all kinds of coop.

Does online coop at least save everyones progress?
