There is an FPS Fest going on at the moment on Steam and while browsing the library of games I noticed Shadow Warrior Classic. I assume the word classic was added to the title when the remake was released back in 2013 which has seen 2 sequels since. Back then (2013) this game was only free temporarily. Later on a decision was made to offer it for free permanently.

I think you know this game. A classic built on the Build engine similarly to Duke Nukem 3D. In fact, the developer was the same company. You have the same concept here: cool protagonist with one-liners, lots of gore but also lots of jokes with a healthy amount of sexual innuendos.

This being a classic it runs on DOSBox. Now, in 2016 a Redux version was released with the usual concept of having remastered graphics, audio, added achievements etc. It also includes two expansions. Allegedly, the expansions can be made available with this version (as you can download them separately) but not everybody confirmed that they could manage them to run without any issues.

Pick the Redux version. It is very cheap at the moment. Or try this one as it is completely free. A classic and must have for FPS fans from the '90s.
