Per request of Jerion from the Eidos' forum I'm adding a link to a thread that will aim to provide official clarifications and responses to issues people have been experiencing with the DC:

I thought it'd be a good idea if we kept a list of bugs, missing items, etc., that we've encountered while playing the DC so as not to be forced to search dozens of threads. I'll try and update this post as I'm able. I've yet to start playing but I've already found that the promised strategy guide is missing and, apparently, the Tactical-Pattern Recognition System augment is not in the game. If someone could confirm the latter, I'd appreciate it.

So, what other discrepancies have you found?

List of missing features/bugs:

1) No official strategy guide (Wii U exclusive)
2) No Tactical-Pattern Recognition System augment (Wii U only)
3) No touchscreen hacking
4) Frame rate drops
5) Broken carpet pattern in Detroit's apartment buildings (SAE)
6) Texture problem on the base of Detroit convenience shops (SAE)
7) Holding W+A or W+D results in movement speed increase
8) Cloaks and Daggers' quest: floating cup bug
9) Before the "security" tutorial: you can walk into the wall on the left
10) One of the male hobo NPCs in Detroit City Sewers (right at the bottom of the manhole behind DPD) can revert to the default "arms raised sideways" position and will stay as such. Screen | Screen | Screen
11) Problems opening/loading the game
12) Black posters on company lobby after intro (SAE)

26) One of the NPCs in the garden pods is standing in mid air.
27) Sometimes after a quickload, those reflections in windows will be distorted so instead of seeing the reflection of the room behind me it's just a broken mosaic of colors.
28) When increasing the FOV, the quick-slot inventory at the bottom of the screen disappears completely. (Update)
29) Sometimes menu buttons stop working and become unresponsive.
30) In China after Belltower attacks the Alice Garden Pods, I escaped, then went to the LIMB clinic. Right after I exited the limb clinic, the background music / ambience started skipping. When the glitch is present, you are unable to talk to Malik's friend from the LIMB clinic after he heads outside.
31) Alice Gardens: floating man glitch
32) Civillian NPCs' voices are muffled when they reply if you interact with them with your weapon drawn.
33) Can't use ä or ö on Steam chat when the game is running and when leaving the game it'll crash and gamepad won't work afterwards.

159) In TML-CIC Ground Floor, an unconscious guard will suddenly die when dragged through a door.
160) In TML, the screens in the CIC room are simply empty frames that allow you to see the ceiling and walls.
161) Audio delay when shooting.
162) Some items leave their outline when removed from the quickbar.

Hmm... I know it's glowing while there's something for you to pick up. Didn't notice the glow remains though.

One thing I noticed a long time ago, not sure if anyone else had:
In the entrance corridor of the Hong Hua, there's a ticket window with the curtain drawn. If you walk around to the other side of that wall, it's a shelving unit full of liquor bottles, with a bar in front of it. Nowhere near enough space in between for any kind of office or booth.

I always figured it was just bad map planning, but was curious if anyone else ever noticed that :)

..this is taken from the vanilla, for what is supposed to be the ticket office of an '80's style disco there is more than enough room, I've measured 4/5 steps in the bar zone and 8/10 on the outside wall, didn't check in the DC though, I had a psychological lock for many things filling this thread and didn't make there yet, if in the DC is the same then there is nothing wrong at all.

Except for the fact that's in a game which furthermore is filled of doorless rooms, fake doors and unexplorable places, the fact it pushes you to wonder what theoretically could be inside that room is a proof of good level design, it's not an 1:1 reproduction of something after all.

In the vanilla instead the PPP (pinned paper pieces) looks like this:

True, but just because it's a convention that the game uses regularly doesn't make it O.K. to keep using it... but I agree that some of those cases do succeed at inspiring curiosity in the player, even if that curiosity can't be satisfied. It doesn't have to be a replica of something, but believability helps the player feel the level is more "real". When a design choice defies common sense or logic it breaks that feeling of immersion. Anyway, not here to discuss level design semantics, and it's not truly a bug, so I'll move on :)


The PPP in the Hong Hua bar seem to be an improperly assigned texture, in fact it almost looks like it could be the grayscale bump/specular map for a texture, but I can't be sure. Changing filtering and AA settings has no effect. OP I'd suggest adding this one to the list. Thanks!

I've looked at that screenshot three times and fail to see anything "immersion breaking". Looks like a regular bar to me.

Then again it's a game, and visual oddities are more of a source of charm for me than something that requires a letter to the president.

Two more bugs that I am reminded of by the previous comment and then by reading the somewhat similar but vague item 33 on the list:

- For me the game crashes 100% when I Alt-Tab out of it while the Steam overlay is on. Also when the overlay is on clicking on windows on the 2nd monitor leads to the same crash.

- The game doesn't use the system settings for the keyboard, so in the case of German keyboards the Y and Z are swapped.

A storage unit in the Belltower docks sequence isn't hackable. Going by the map showing the area inside, it should be hackable.

EDIT: Weirdest thing just happened. First two enemies out the door in Missing Link. I used nonlethal takedown on the first guy, animation was shoulder tap + punch, and when it ended, the guy I punched knocked into the 2nd guy and killed him.

EDIT 3: Not a bug, but an oversight. If you had 200 HP before ML, you keep the 200 HP even though it doesn't make sense within the context of what happened in the game.

EDIT 4: Bug. When you go to pick up your armor and weapons, there are two objectives, one for each. If you pick up the armor and after that, your weapons, you get the transmission from the guy twice, once for each (armor, weapons). This doesn't happen if you pick up your weapons first, and then the armor.

EDIT 5: Bug. On the TML ship, I used nonlethal takedown on this guard, then tried dragging him outside. When he touches the area near the doorway, he dies. I've done it 5 times, and 5 times he died when dragged through the doorway. Also of note is that it seems impossible to make him leave the room (at least without alerting him). I tried repeatedly jumping and shooting the silenced 10mm near him, but no matter what I do, he doesn't come outside.
