Comparing system requirements for different platforms

Does anyone's brow raise at the system requirements for this game on Mac and PC ? Just checked the "recommended" system for this game but Mac/OSX needs 8GB vs. 2GB on PC/Windows? Excluding the relatively similar GPU requirements, and the # of core processors, when we go to hard drive space however, 25GB vs. 17GB ? What?

Really concerned since when I tried the mac platform the game was constantly stuttering, especially in open areas. Getting a consistent 30fps is hard even though the laptop I used meets at least the "minimum" requirements.

This second-release - the "Director's Cut" - is badly optimized in general. As an overall package, compared to the original, "optimized" doesn't seem like an appropriate word. More like "diminished". The stuttering is a known issue. Lots of known issues. I haven't played it because I'm waiting for a patch - I bought it on release night, over 8 months ago. However - and this applies to not just this game - it's normal for Mac system requirements to be much higher for the CPU and for the RAM, especially so. That being said, the people making this game don't do much right, so what can I say but expect more disappointments to come! This is a bad version that some of us would rather not play.

A few points:

* The HD size is the same for both games Mac and PC
* 8GB is only needed for the reccomended settings as with 8GB OS X can assign more memory to intergrated cards from Intel and also your OS in general. The 4GB minimum is more about OS X being so much better with 4GB of RAM than the game spec itself.

You shoudl not get consistant stutters on the Mac version if you have an issue you can always contact our support team and we can investigate.
