So Hypothetically, Paradox and Creative Assembly collaborate on something...
What if Creative Assembly and Paradox did a game together? Paradox would do the campaign, of course, and CA would handle battles. To be frank, I think as long as Paradox did the campaign and was in charge of quality control, a disaster like Rome II would be decidedly unlikely.

I mean it could work.
I doubt it.
But I think it would be either amazingly awsome or terrible.

This is an idea people keep floating, and I'm really not sure why.. I mean, I like the Total War series and I like the Paradox GS games, but they play on completely different levels. Adding paradox level grand strategy in a total war game would just be pointless depth and micromanagement for its own sake and detract from the (already rather limited) time spent fighting exciting battles. Adding total war battles to a paradox grand stratgegy game would just be a way to game the inevitable weakness of the tactical AI and score easy and unfair wins.

I personally believe that mix of eu4 and kind of football manager will be good if the improve ai.
So I can wage important battles myself (icon style and a lot of text battles) plus get more to beauracracy and army management if I want to or just tick "auto" and play as usual.

Call me romantic but if such collaboration was ever made I would expect nothing less than a 10/10 strategy game.

Or a bug-ridden nightmare that would NEVER reach optimization due to the endless DLC. Imagine a forever-changing EU4 where 2 teams had to collaborate.

While I never played Rome 2, Eu4 is hardly a benchmark of performance and quality control. There have been patches that were horrendous, so I'm not sure why the OP thinks they are the panacea.
