Ghost Ships are submarine, hence underwater port.
So the Prison is located under the ocean but has its own ocean also.. Its like the Lake episode on spongebob
oh damn you beat me to it
End of story.
But people will dislike a geographical way it makes no sense? C'mon, it's Dark Souls 2, not Dark Souls 2 Prepare to Whine Edition.
Which was a terrible decision. If they didnt want to keep the connected world approach from DS1, a map and fast-travel would have been much better than ridiculously stupid locations.
For all we know, based on the whole idea of time manipulation in the souls series, the lift after earthen peak is travelling through time as well. admittedly far-fetched, but not enough to warrant so much complaint.
