Severe Damage Mechanic
Just tested out the new severe damage system for the aircraft. Seem Really Cool, I support it. It feel like it fixes a lot of problems with one taps just from severe damage to aircraft, and allows more points in-case you get a kill stolen. Has anyone found any potential problems with this new system?

It's great, never saw a bad word of it in any of the matches

Okay but I've been written off twice in middle of active combat, It REALLY handicaps bombers

Perhaps I could see that but how so?

When your aircraft is severly damaged and the match ends it auto ejects and awards the kill even in situations where your plane is flying perfectly fine, or on the airfield 3/4 through a repair etc.
Only real issue there is how little damage you can have and still get the severe damage. a few times i didnt even know they got severe damage on me since it was so light and i was still taking down enemy air like it was nothing, then match ends, ejected, kill awarded.

Majority of times though its been understandable, just a huge annoyance those few times.

Written off only occurs when a match ends.

with the severe damage you are able to just fire a burst at a bomber, until it catches fire or for example looses comps on the rudder or elevator, leave and shoot at another, and wait u til he crash lmao

Im sure this player is referring to the plane being "burnt down" where you have an entirely operational vehicle thats just on fire, then you randomly get ripped from the cockpit as your still flying. Yet there are other matches where I can be on fire for minutes and im not "burnt down".

If so, their wording is really poor to convey that since “written off” is specifically the term used when you’re ejected from a plane marked as severely damaged at the end of the match.

Right. lets not play ignorant. You have plenty of hours to know exactly what hes talking about.

But back to the topic. I hate severe damage. I find it incredibly inconsistent depending on the aircraft, and it very often rewards the wrong person for the kill due to this issue.

You can cut surface controls, rip off a wing, start a gas fire, and because someone fly's by and puts a single 12.7mm AP into the engine by chance as its spiraling to the ground, they get the full kill, and you are stuck with an assist.

Yup, its a good start but needs a bit of tweaking so minor =/= severe and vice versa

Actually, I'm still not entirely sure what is specifically being referenced because ejection due to being burnt out isn't related to the severe damage mechanic. You're making assumptions here with nothing concrete to prove one way or the other. Until they post something more specific, we can't really be sure.

As for the mechanic, I find its better than how it worked before. Not sure its perfect, but it could be improved, as with all things.
