Response to the IndieGala bundle
First of all we want to say we’re sorry.

We took part in the Indiegala bundle with one objective in mind: to do something to support charity.

As crazy as this might seem, we simply did not realize we would upset so many of you by dropping the price of both versions of Interstellar Marines. We should have realized this would happen, but we’re only human and it just did not cross our minds.

We screwed up, and we’re sorry.

It is important to understand we pretty much get nothing out of this bundle, which is fine with us as making money was not our intention.

On the plus side everyone who has purchased the Indiegala bundle has helped charity, so in a small way we hope we've positively contributed to good causes.

We value each and every person who supports us, both through purchasing Interstellar Marines and just simply through word of mouth and moral support. We’re sorry to have let you all down.

We hope that you will accept this apology, and that you continue to stay with us and support us through thick and thin. We need your support on this journey and Interstellar Marines will not be the game we want it to be without your support.

/ The entire Interstellar Marines team.

Well said, I'm sad that you have so many entitled people buying and playing your games.

Nice post though, I hope the game does well, almost feel bad for getting the Spearhead Edition so cheap off the bundle... but then again, with my budget for games I would've had to wait for a Steam sale otherwise anyways...

I'm glad to support charity, I hope your fans cut you some slack too.

I can see both sides of the "controversy" if you could call it that. The people who bought the game before the bundle that may feel burned about the cheaper price and the guys who came in on the bundle not knowing it's an EA game being surprised about the game's content.

Note: EA means Early Access, not the company.

If you wanted to buy something that had value, you would've done better to avoid digital goods. xD

You should really just say early access, it's so confusing the first time I read your post.

I'm not hurt by the sale, it just means they didn't support the game devs and instead supported a charity as the devs wanted, the devs didn't want to offend anyone and make it seem like they wasted their money. Buying the game full price means the devs actually get money that they need to make the game, if no one bought the game full priced then they couldn't make the game.

And I accept your apology even though i did not need it. :)

I'm as dissapointed as most guys, but to make up for it, mind offering some exclusive DLC for those that bought it before it being bundled?

I bought the game 2 days before the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bundle (spearhead one) and i actually did want to support the devs and it was nice to have some exclusive things but now the exclusive thing is a joke as anyone can have it for 4$ (and for even less at happy hour).

I would like to know an reason why did you put Spearhead edition in the bundle? It took away all what was exclusive by bundling it. I could understand the normal edition but not that.

Now i regret my purchase and supporting the devs even if the game even now looks brilliant and future plans make it look even more amazing. But this is the last time i will support these devs anyhow. If they make some another good game i just wait for it to be bundled like this one and last thing i would do is to support the developement.

Thanks god this bundle happened now because i was thinking after playing to get few more Spearheads for my friends.

hey Bozar,

I don't mind it being bundled to be honest. I think its a great for the game and doing this will sure get some new players for the game and community. You community events and streams have already made the community very strong and just by the indie gala edition, it can expand and be stronger.

I do understand what some people concern/complain with. To be honest, I , myself, think 3 copies in a single bundle is a lot. In the bundle you get base game $1 tier, and a spearhead (current $4 tier). Thats a total of 3 copies. So I can understand where the people may be upset especially people who may have purchased the spearhead edition thinking it would be an honor to support the game (and cool of course to see our usernames in the Hall of Honor). And then all of a sudden that honor does not seem much of an honor anymore. As you stated, you are not getting much out of the indie gala except more player (since money goes to charity).

Anyway, I hope to continue to see the community grow and the game develop and try to make the community gatherings.

Although I appreciate them admitting that this could upset some people, its not good enough. The charity element is so minuscule that I'm not buying it. The Able Gamers default split on this is about 5%. The default developers split is 70%. This sounds like garbage to me.
