i also had really good runs with fissure of embermount and lavamancer walls...fissure of embermount does really great damage now -some skyguard for flyers and a oil geysir between the embermount and it was pretty good
fissure of embermount gets destroyed by the roller of course -but the walls petrifie him-because of that i had oneshotted rollers with still 3/4 hp (doesn't matter what chaos mode -did not do five though)
fissure of emberment will not be stunned by cyborgs-but they need a range shard to be really awesome
Characters i have at 50 (and geared, well used to be) Squire with 1.4mill walls, Abyss Lord, Monk (now that im using the flame aura a little more and Lightning aura for bosses it doesnt seem to bad) and DPS Huntress.
Eruption is possiably the most OP damage boost ability in the game, and with the fact fissure's are no longer caped at two and do decent groundbased AOE damage at a mere 30DU - you get unlimited resources to spam eruption.
I went +hero ability and my eruption hits for 450k in a huge aoe, busting though bubbles and shields alike, but the true power of the ability is the boost to Def power of your towers in range, there is a shard that boosts eruptions damage increase even more in many cases doubling the damage every 6 seconds (espically if your have the hero proximity defense boost shard)
Maw is great when used well it can stun lock bosses and takedown rollers by its self (yes it can its all about the pertify which removes rollers)
I still use monks skyguard for Air defense, but lavamancer is very fun to play.
(forget about volcano, damage bad, range bad even with shard. Oil spout is op but ill let you find out for yourself.
Oh and 4 lavamancers on a map.... is just broken - yes eruptions stack.
@op
before i used the lavamancer build i used the flameauras of the monk myselfe (they are pretty strong - but in c2 they can be stunned by cyborgs -i would asume but i am not sure)
pdt is still good it has a base critchance of 30 so with ascension and shard it can go up to 65%(the shard you can already get in c1)
so use them build them on speed with crit (they get really fast)...and build them so that they shoot in the back of mobs that are at the wall (though they will be countered by the crystal in c3)
as walls i would use the squire walls right now...there is a shard (i think i dropped it in c2) that givves the walls a 250% health shield for 5 sec with a 25% chance on being hit(without cooldown) that really helps a lot...before you get that shard you can still use the 34% more defence health shard to push them
and for air always skyguard tower - would be best with a range shard....makes the towers great again (no pun intended ;p)
edit: abyss knight as dps is awesome...ability powwer build and i spam abysal knight (the 2) mobs just die and if they don't they are stunned just great
the rightclick ( not charged but spammed) is also awesome for siegeroller
Yes Monk flame can be emp'ed lavamancer fissure cannot be I assume because its also a core resource for the lavamacer - Oil spout can be stunned.
Its a shame you did not use him as DPS, he can tank like a squire but put out really really good dps and eruption can double all nearby defense power (it also hits air)
like a squire thats the thing i don't like the squire either ;p
abysslord is fun (and he can be tanky with hin fountain) gunwitch too and for melee i prefer dryad or the mystik
i played the huntres a while too
Lightning Strikes Aura is crap TBH. If you're going to use a damage aura, Flame Aura is the way to go. Sure, LSA deals a nice hit for an aura, but there's a huge delay between lightning bolts and it can only strike one target at a time. The whole point of an aura is to make up for weak individual hits by DPSing everything in the aura's field. Also, Auras tend to fail on Chaos-2 and higher because EMP Orcs exist.
Skyguards are a mixed bag. If you've got the Destruction (DefPwr) and Deadly Strikes (DefRange) shards for their relic, and you have some DefSpd on that relic in addition to DefPwr, they're fantastic, capable of landing multiple heavy shots on several air enemies at a time at considerable range, without being distracted by ground enemies at all. If you lack those shards or have a relic that doesn't have DefHealth and DefSpd as well as DefPwr, then they're weak, easily-destroyed towers that don't have the range to kill even the lightest fliers before getting attacked and killed themselves.
Of the base four heroes, the best anti-air in the absence of a range-sharded skyguard is a PDT. Just make sure you aim it at the offending lane and give it a maxed-out Destruction shard. I would recommend a range-sharded Ballista, but if you actually have a Deadly Strikes shard, you could put it on the Skyguard instead.
EDIT: Nevermind, found it, F Keys.
Actually for PDT drop all tower damage, pump the gambit and run a Crit, Attackspeed, HP relic with + crit chance, +crit damage and range shard PDT is godly, far better than damage build.
