Also note at this time, the red boy does not know his past yet. I personally would argue killing the fox is unnecessary but Bajie was in bad mood that time, the fox transformed to someone else to cheat them and made wukong hated Bajie for a while.
Later the JtW mission accomplished, wukong becomes Budda but found out it is the wrong way to go, the Buddas is actually only sweet talking but act like Celestials, they do not care guai at all, treat them like trash and absorb their power. So he decided to rebell. bull king is summoned by celestial to fight wukong with other chapter bosses, despite the unhappiness before, he witnessed wukong's defeat and suicidal act. This is (c) and (a). 5 relics taken. and Er Lang Shen keep the 6th and hide away. The coccon is not what wukong became. It is the place wukong was born and his remaining will returns to it.
Now the desinated one timeline kicks in. You can view the red boy is a punishment celestial cast to bull king family. When the boy realized his past of former life, he kinda betrayed his family and wanted to get the relic for power to revenge, and stopped by you.
Well at least bull king and his wife still survived this round, which is a slight hope of all this darkness and tradegy.
To explain the bull king part vaguely, the bull king and monke were sworn brothers at the beginning before they wreak up the celestial court together. This is before the journey begins with the tang monk. The novel starts with the introduction of monke and his origin(summed up in first video of the mentioned playlist) so that part of them fighting is during that time. during this time of the monke intro it is told how he got multiple immortalities in the first place.
Now wukong messes up the celestial court and no one is able to stop him so they call for buddha. The celestial court is the Daoist section while buddha is the Buddhist section however, they do interact with each other so the jade emperor call for buddha's help. Eventually after a small trial monke is trapped under a big mountain and sealed off by the buddha with his head out and is then left under the mountain for the next 500 years. Meanwhile the boddhisatva Avalokiteshwara (Guanyin/Kuanyin in chinese) feed him molten copper for the 500 years he is trapped in.
Now, moving onto 500 years ahead, the Tang monk is made to start his journey to the west(India) to fetch 3 scrolls of the original mahayana buddhism teaching from India to bring to china and translate them from sanskrit. Along his journey is comes across the monke and frees the monke from the mountain by removing the seal from the top of the mountain and so the monke is asked to accompany the monk in his journey. (Won't go into much detail cuz its a lot to type so just watch the video)
Anyway so, along the journey where 500 years have passed, he comes across the bull demon king's brother, and his son. who are both defeated and his son the red boy is defeated by guanyin and is made to follow her and remain with her for the upcoming few years. Thats why in the cutscene he says "your boy, i've given away" Even though it was guanyin who took him. Eventually he comes to the flaming mountains, bull king married to princess fox who gave him a lot of gold and treasures as a dowry kinda leaving his wife Rakshasi. Eventually after a little bit of story which i'll not write cuz a lot, the fox wife is killed by Bajie And bull king is defeated the celestial army along with wukong who is helping the tang monk and is captured. The story proceeds.
the part of wukong being slashed is that the celestial court doesnt trust wukong even after he attains buddhahood after completing the journey and helping the monk. The headband he has is like a collar to control him. chanting a particular sutra makes the band shrink causing immense pain to wukong. so at the end he doesnt get free from the headband. The celestial court doesnt trust him so they gather the strongest guais to defeat wukong which are the bosses uptil ch4 and the 5th one is the bull king who is angry cuz wukong kinda caused his entire family to die and break apart. He helps them but at the end realises that wukong was trying to protect the bull king and his wife and son(who is now back from guanyin's place) from the celstial court cuz they would eventually hunt them down as well. He dies willingly so he can be free of the headband .
That pretty much is super short of it. with a lot of part skipped
