PS. I run just about everything at 1080p with max detail (or close to it). This game's poor performance really stands out like a sore thumb.
I'd wait for a sale too, not because of technical issues but because honestly, the game is pretty mediocre. It's not a *bad* game (I've spent 19 hours playing it so far and intend to finish) but if you've played a lot of other CRPGs there won't be a lot you haven't seen before elsewhere, and there are enough rough edges in the user interface and the gameplay to be a more or less constant low-level annoyance. For example, expect to spend a lot of time manually moving the various popups like the inventory, quest list, and lore list around the screen because it doesn't remember where you put them and pops them all on top of each other by default, which is a problem since you're often expected to drag things from your inventory to one of the other windows. It's mostly little stuff like that where you'll think, "How could they have played the game and not been annoyed enough by this to spend ten minutes fixing it?"
But if I forgot the 10mn absurdity, I understand your point because I constantly see points like that, even in games less unpolished than what seems be this one.
Hi mr bigdad. We are developing a sequel, but we also noted on several occasions, the new LoD patch is in the works and should be ready pretty soon.
Legends of Dawn was "complete" in the terms of fulfilling our obligations towards Kickstarter backers. That doesn't mean we forgot about the patches. We are a very small team so patching takes time, unfortunately.
I had "some" fun with it when this game was released just exploring but quickly saw how unpolished it was and could only play maybe 20 - 30 min at a time due to how unoptimized it also was.
Still waiting on this "patch" so I can install it again and perhaps finish the game one day, heh.
I can dream right?
