Tropico failed to start: error code 53 :(

Running Windows 7 32-bit. Just bought it, it's never worked but the demo did. Only using one monitor. Maybe should have bought the GoG version. >.<

Its always this error code bs with Steam :(

SOLUTION for me: I deleted Tropico 3: Absolute Power, installed the Tropico 3 Expansion Pack instead. It works. :P

No I only have one monitor, I just mentioned it because i'd seen people mentioning having two monitors and getting errors.

Seems we had the same idea. Right afer posting I installed the expansion and the error went away. Sorry I forgot to post back adn say so. Seems a bit silly for people who only have space for the main game though. I assume that people who only own the main game don't have this error and it comes from it thinking you are running the expansion? Otherwise people are being forced to buy the expansion in order for it to work!
