Is the game screwed up or something?

Ok so I just bought the game and I'm trying to do the tutorial. I got to where it says to click on a person. I cant find a person anywhere at all. I gave up trying to find one so I went to Campaign and cant find people at all and cant build anything. Also when I get set up for the Campain my avatar isnt on the screen when I create him. Everything else in the game is working perfect.

Did you try zooming in for selecting a person?
