Just a tip for anyone having issues getting native Linux DF & DFHack to run properly.
Despite subscribing to the beta channels, disabling compatibility etc. for both, I wasn't able to run the game successfully.
I needed to click on 'Force compatibility...' under, then uncheck it after installing the beta versions of both on the Compatibility tab (right click the game name, select properties to see it) to force both DF & DFHack to load the Linux versions. Worked just fine after that.

Thank you for this, I had to do this even when I didn't have either previously installed.

DF installed the native version the first time, no issues there, but I did the procedure for both it and DFHack just in case, and this did indeed solve the problem.

... aaand it reverted the next time I launched Steam. (both dfhack and the game)

Looks like the right way to do this is to enable "Force the use of a specific..." like advised above temporarily, except we just choose "Steam Linux Runtime 1.0 (scout)" and leave that selected, and do not choose a beta (unless there's a native build you want to stay on). Do this for both df and dfhack.

This seems to do the job and makes it stick.

Also, keep in mind as of writing this, that apparently you need to install this tool on the same drive as Dwarf Fortress is on. I was wondering why mine was not working, it was because this tool was on a different drive than DF. Once I uninstalled and reinstalled to the same drive, the tool works correctly.
