H-Shifter doesnt change into the right gear.
I have driven a few cars, The Caterham Superlite this time and noticed that when I change from 4th to 2nd gear it goes to 3rd even though the h-shifter is in 2nd.

It seems you can choose to use paddles or shifter in game, I thought it might be because of the paddle shift HAVING to shift through the gears but the Superlite is a shifter.

Use some grammar please , I dont understand that statement as it becomes a bit ambiguous without it.

If you mean that sequential boxes need to be shifted by the paddles without the use of a clutch , yes I know that and it does it is doing it with manual boxes.

If you mean that I should use my clutch with the paddle shift.............................I will leave it at that.

I understand that a sequential box doesnt have direct acces to each gear hence the name "sequential".

I also noticed this odd behaviour. I was even able to upshift and downshift from 1st to 5th sequentially just by using the 1st and 2nd gears. I chalked that up to a glitch or a sensitivity problem with the H-Shifter.
It's also silly, in my mind, to even be able to use a paddle shifter where the car itself IRL doesn't have paddle shifters.

I agree, however, many wheels don't have H shifters plus you have pad controllers so there really isn't anyway around it. every game is this way regarding paddle shifting on cars from a previous era. As for H shift issue....sorry mate. : (

Well Assetto Corsa isnt but then it isnt a game its a sim. You can choose it in options so there is a way around it. And when in game AC selects the right option even if you have H-shifter on in options.

SimRaceWay has this in game choice but it works like it should. I'm sure it will get fixed.

exactly. AC did it right...so it IS possible to code. This was a decision or an oversight on the devs part.

The reason this happens is because certain cars have no h-shifter its is a true sim, as it makes each car behave as it really should as in if the car has no h-shifter your h-shifter will become sequential and in turn means you should use the paddles a sequential shift plate in the case of the th8a shifter.

apologies for the bad gramme

Devs did keep things real. But True sim, I would not say they hit they nail there, but it is good. Not great though. The thing that put people off, on gearing, is that there is no info about what type of transmission each cars has (Manual or sequential).

i cant use my h-shifter for paddle shifted cars in assetto corsa neither ;)

I have an H-shifter as well and would find it useful if they would tell if a car uses sequential paddle or H.
