have got to the end of the london scenario and i have to get a high roman approval to make london the capital. how do you find out what approval you have got and how do you improve it

Have all your citizens happy or content. Look at the Forum or Tavern who of your citizens ist a Rebel or Angry - Click on them and SEND them to fullfill their needs. (Wine, Altar, Sausage, Bath, Theater, etc) If they cant fullfill their needs, make sure you make it available for them, by building a Market, Altar, Temple, etc. So they can buy or get what they need in their neighborhood.
Also, make sure they have enough money to afford their needs.

Another problem could be, which was the case in my game, that the Prefect was not able to catch the Criminal. I had to find the Prefect that was glictching - stuck catching a Criminal. Clicked on the Prefect and send him to fullfill his needs. As soon as he was out of the glitch the Criminal was cought and the approval to Rom went up to win the scenario.
