How to get peeling machine?

Without skeletons in party. Those bandits do not look very strong enemies and walk/live in small groups, so I thought it could be worth idea to just walk into their outpost and take this machine by force. Is it possible to do so?

If you have good enough stealth, you can sneak into the Skin Bandit HQ at night and loot Savant while he's sleeping without any issues. You can even just pick him up while he's in bed. He has a blueprint on him so you can make your own peelers for the low cost of 1 building material.

Yes they don't look very strong and taking their CPU unit will kill them outright, but I would save my game in a new slot before taking on the skinhouse. Or you could use stealth knockdown like the guy above said.

the skin bandits will also leave hives alone, so either a hive or a skeleton can get to savant without issues, he has the "transhumanism bible" in his inventory, it functions as a blue print for the peeler machine (and skin suit) so steal it and you're set.

not all hivers though, only a certain hiver type is safe iirc.
