If you want to play the game using the Razer Hydra or Oculus Rift, you'll need a slightly different build of the game. You can find out how to get that here:

Have fun!

Remember - malpractice makes perfect! =D

EDIT: We know this doesn't work at the moment - watch this space - we will see if we can find time to fix it.

it seems the first surgery doesnt work with Hydra, the fingers do not close. I can grab things just fine in the TF2 surgery and at reception, but in the heart surgery the buttons do nothing

This is well well known. It's been this way for a long time. I'm pretty certain they're not going to fix it.

is it only the first level? I kind of only want to play the game with the hydra but will bite the bullet for the first level if I can play the rest

Yeah, only the first. The rest are mostly great. There's one later on that also has a big hydra (and oculus) bug though.
The first level though...would be nice to see a fix. I really enjoyed the TF2 level.

Also hoping for a fix, I kinda feel less like playing because it seems broken, now. Much like a new phone with a little scratch right in the middle of the screen. The phone's still new, but you know the scratch is there...

It IS annoying, but if you have either.. particularly the Hydra (because it would be difficult to play with just the keyboard while wearing the Rift) I completely recommend it. Very very fun with those devices. I didn't care too much for the game until I used the Hydra.

Still waiting for a fix for the fingers on the first operation.

Please devs? Can we please have our fingers back for the first level? I haven't tried any other levels, yet. I'm still waiting for a fix so that I can pass the first surgery. I've beaten the TF2 operation three times in a row, though. I even got an A! Mar 21, 2014 @ 2:09pm
If only razer products weren't so ridiculously overpriced...

To be honest, the Hydra isn't so expensive, likely that they've had to mark it down in price due to low sales numbers.

I passed the first surgery with the mouse, and now have access to the other surgeries, using the Rift and Hydra together. It's pretty awesome, certainly the ideal way to absorb the game.

Just bought the game purely for the Rift/Hydra experience, so it's sad that the very first level doesn't work with the Hydra. I'll try to complete it with the (daft) keyboard controls, though

Play the TF2 mission a few times till you "get it" and you'll find it a lot easier to pass the first level with a mouse and keyboard. I got past that level very easily, after completing the TF2 mission enough times that I just started to get how things worked.

If you're curious how to start that mission, just put the vhs tape in the vcr, it'll boot up that mission, and it works with the hydra.

I don't really get the oculous rift
It seems kind of pointless to me
I'd much rather play on the computer

That's very close to a Haiku you have there. Have you used a Rift?
