Why you Cannot trust this Developer
Uber has made an announcement that they are creating a new game. The following was included in the announcement:

"[tl;dr: today, we announced a new Kickstarter for a strategy game called Human Resources. Plans for Planetary Annihilation’s development will be unaffected. Human Resources’ team is a separate team.]"

From the kickstarter for Uber's new game:

"With Planetary Annihilation, we think the results speak for themselves. The game is a beloved and critically lauded entry in the RTS canon, and we’re extremely proud of it. Now we’re ready to try something even more ambitious."

And if that isn't bad enough they have been caught lying red-handed:

"John Comes - Lead Designer, Project Director

John Comes has spent the better part of his 13 year professional career working on some of the biggest strategy titles out there. Titles like: Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour, The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth, Supreme Commander, Planetary Annihilation, and more. He wants to take this opportunity to combine all the best parts of all these games and incorporate them into one awesome experience. After all, he knows awesome!"

It seems it WILL NOT be a seperate team working on this new game as they have said in this announcement. The Lead Designer is responsible for PA and according to Uber's own words will be working on this new game.

Uber has a long history of having great ideas... but then horribly destorying them with thier own hands. MNC being their first real crime against IP. Same story different time mind you, ignores the forums, ignores gameplay and balance, ignores the many many signs of its slow but sure demise, and of course to top it all off their Oh so lovely lieing through their teeth.

"MNC died horribly how are you going to make SMNC not share the same fate?"
-me

"The rules have changed"
-Devs

Yep Uber is a "Critically Lauded" devolpment team when it comes to making titles. By that I mean great IP...being driven off a cliff by the incompetence, ignorance, and hubris of the devs.

Looks like they failed to look at their storepage that have thumbed down reviews across the board including a poor metacritic score. This is not a good incentive to bring in new customers for PA.

Food for thought.
https://www.kickstarter.com/terms-of-use

This is the new kickstarter terms of use that go into effect October 19th. It includes more about actually delivering on what you promise. Now we know why the kickstarter for HR was rushed out. This was originally posted by Fox so I can't take credit, but I wanted to make sure it made it here.
Please do not back Uber. They don't deserve your money.
HOw is the Human Resources Kickstarter rushed out? I'd like your source that has Uber discussing how long this idea has been in development. How about how long did it take the project to go from idea to concept to Kickstarter? Was that all rushed?

More food for thought (Though, typically, no one cares for the devs. side of the story, they just want to slander them for whatever reason.)

I literally don't get how you, @scathis , can do these things and come on here, thinking everything is alright. I would never be able to sleep at night if I was in your position.

I just don't get your anger Tib. We used to be such friends! You used to grab me with your ka-claw and pummel me to death and we'd laugh over ventrillo. What happened? Where did we go around?

On a serious note:
You're very cynical towards us for this free game we put out. A good number of people played SMNC a lot never paid a dime. (Which, as our data tells us, is the main reason it failed financially) People lost their jobs because SMNC didn't perform. I know you have your reasons why and I addressed my side of the story for those complaints in that other thread.

For reference:
August 15-2012: PA Kickstarter starts - "This isn't the end of Super MNC."
Sept 14-2012: PA's Kickstarter funds
Oct 11-2012: We release Robohobo for Super MNC. A major new pro release.
March 13-2013: We release the last update for Super MNC, a full 7 months after the PA Kickstarter.

We supported it through 33 updates. 33! Each and every one of those updates lost money. Super MNC lost a lot of money. We poured our heart and soul into that game. Yes, there were bugs that didn't get fixed, it's a question of production capacity at that time. We were a very small studio. If we didn't do the PA kickstarter Super MNC would have totally been abandoned because Uber would not exist. And yet, the servers are still up, even though it costs us money every month to continue to run them.

Uber is now at the point where we've grown where we actually can support two large teams. That's what this is about, funding a new team and a new game so we can continue to do what we love and support our earlier projects.

And what's wrong with giving out money for Super MNC? I mean seriously, if it brings back a few players, then why not? How is that bad?

Side note: Eka is still here, he didn't go anywhere. He just wasn't in the picture.

"Rush out" may have been over zealous of me. I just mean that this is the reason they started the kickstarter now when PA is so unbelievably, inexcusably unfinished. You can't tell me they need more funds when they made 3 times their original goal for PA. If they do, they have no idea how to manage funds and deserve to go under. I don't even expect constant updates for PA. I just want what I was promised.

would be cool if they added singleplayer with bots to the game. waiting an eternity for a match isn't fun. SMNC was great, i didn't even encounter bugs in the standard play (5v5, attack the moneyball). didn't test the other modes.

but still, i don't know how much they tell on the uber-forum, but here on the steam-forum they're barely active. if they would spend like 15 minutes a week to write a small update for us, it would be enough. gather some information about what every team did, what they've worked on and post it here. tells us they're still alive, they still support the game, we know a little more and are happier
Guys, they'll have teams for both of the games. Chill the f*ck out.
Is using kicksarter for the next game not going against the principles of Kickstarter? I mean, if its ok, why not let people buy COD and BF on Kickstarter too? Becase Kickstarter is meant to help new buisinesses, not existing ones.

Uber seems to have worse management than EA........

Uber is an indie company, so they cant afford it as much. EA and Treyarch aare huge companies, with huge fundings.

So you dont know what indie means, and you will keep defending failed lying developers.
Indie = Self Funded. That's it. Did you know Double Fine is an Indie dev team?

This Uber said that, if it were a prank or a joke, I would be the first to laugh, but I really find it a mockery or disrespect. How is it possible that someone can lie in such a way, be proud of a game that critics give a simple 6 ...
Uber developers must live in one of the planets of your game, but not in the actual earth.
Do they always assign designers to a lead project role?

It's not as bad as assigning a marketeer, or someone from sales.. but getting close.

I prefer functionality > graphics.. Beforehand we know now that it will look pretty.. and maybe you can actually have fun.

Doesn't really tell you a lot that a designer has worked on other projects.. I mean.. It's his job to create 'new' objects, not to reuse them. That's an engineer.
