Should I pick this one or the former crusader HD??

Probably this one as it is more up to date graphic wise?
But considering the former crusader is ridiculously cheap, I don't see why not picking both?

If you want a real Stronghold experience you gotta play Stronghold 1, this is where it all started, where the core characters were explained, the story and a proper and nice campaign.

Graphics are surely outdated as hell but also give the game its nostalgic.

Up to you.

I recommend.

Start with Stronghold 1.
Then play Stronghold Crusader.
Then give Stronghold 2 a try and if you like this have a look in to Stronghold Crusader 2.

Surely there are many othe SH games in between you are free to try all out, but the ones I have named are definitely the MUST HAVEs. I am saying this as someone who has been playing Stronghold 1 since release and almost all following versions.
