i love the setting and the warlords system sounds interesting.

i dont know yet if i like or dislike the graphics, but however my decision about the graphics will be it will not ruin the game for me personally.
I don't like it. Sorry Firefly. I hyped for a year and you show me this? No, Firefly. Just no :(

And here is Steam page for game in case you don't know.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/907650

Lots of negativity there.

I was pretty disappointed as well. I will buy it and try it out since I love Stronghold games. I just hope they take their time with it and release a finished product with no bugs.

Do not like asian theme
but big markit in Chainah.

Tbh I wassnt hyped for this thing and them trying to span your attention for 1,5 years when not revealing anything cause theyre too confident makes one wonder.

I had no expectations, since I FF well enough where they screwed up after first crusader consistently. I think they didnt understand how did crusader achieve its success and what was it.

why ? Because SH2 failed because of this. They thought too complex ? Too simple Legends.

then infamous Stronghold 3. They were lying about how great and finished it was and got money for an effective alpha build.

Crusader II was too cheaty AI, still bugged enough. (archers dont fight on walls, cant fight in melee, nor can they shoot when engaged)
why have walls but no siege towers or ladders ??? Hack the walls withh insta-appearing pickaxes.

otherwise mediocre.

If I understood correctly, the eastates will have some minor AI lord like say in Crusader who will work for you. I guess, until the este is yours. I imagined when I read about SH2 before release I was thinking along those lines, back in 2004-2005.

Very much like the wolf being the main boss, while he was ordering rat, snakey, pigling around, only going himself in when deemed necessary.

according to an article of the german game magazine "Gamestar" the warlords can either be conquered or bought for diplomatic points you generate via diplomatic buildings.

the warlords give you passive boni like stronger walls (the turtle warlord) or more hp for your units (the tiger warlord).

you also can give them orders and gear them up by using diplomatic points, then they can send a rescuing army or attack the enemy.

more peacefull warlords might send you ressources instead.

it should also be possible that you never attack the enemy yourselfe but insted defeat him with a coalation of warlords if you want.

the warlords are not individual characters like the regular AI lords but they still will have their own personality and their own sayings (hope that is the right englisch word for it)

also the AI lords (not the warlords) will be historical characters like Genghis Khan and seem to have their own unique model again but they will NOT be heroes like in warcraft for example since that would not fit to the stronghold series.

I understand, I only wrote that I fantasized about such a system before stronghold 2 was released.

The main controlled lord is an equivalent of a boss lord, like in SH1 campaign, it would be wolfie from the opposite side. His minor attachment lords would have been the 3 opponents before him.

nothing extraordinary, butit probably would sell in asia.

Of course it doesn't look great when community doesn't know what it wants, for past decade and a half.
ill give it an honest shot. Was hoping for graphics akin to SH3. But if the gameplay is good, and replayable, im down.

Im mostly excited to see how the what was it, gunpowder siege equipment will work, and of course comeback of laddermen and siege towers, hell maybe i can even put ladder men on siege towers, then have them ladder more walls, or tunnelers, and burn down the rice fields while screaming LETS GET DOWN TO BUSSINESS, TO DEFEAT, THE HUNS!

according to the german article i wrote about in my second post here there will be a ox loaded with gunpowder which you blow up to destroy the walls for example, but it should be unreliable and also can explode in your own ranks for balance reasons.

Would expect as much, tough that remidns me of fire carts, ultimately Olaf would kill his army before he makes much of a problem with them.

The community wants a ♥♥♥♥ing European Medieval castle building simulator first and foremost with freebuild, freeplay, map creator, a good campaign, and proper ♥♥♥♥ing Stronghold functions like sieges in freebuild that were mainstays of the first games. Nobody has EVER wanted this watered down RTS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t. The ♥♥♥♥ are you on about?
