And he still has a ton of spells that completly negates him, as do most cards. if i see someone starting to play lv1 or lv2 chrogias i sure as hell make sure to level my counter cards.

Tons of spells? grave pact? dreadbolt? what else completely negates him? 2 lvl 3 uranti bolts?
Also Botanimate, Energy Prison. So any fraction other than mono tempy should have an answer. If you go mono tempy I guess you just have to end the match before this happens.

Considering that playing a Level 1/2 Chrogias sets you back significantly, it should be a bit easier for mono Tempys to end the game before that happens. Naturally, you could discard him with the likes of Technosmith and Synapse Oracle, but still. :P

True, more than just the few I mentioned but no where near a "ton". The vast majority of the cards, especially creatures are just fodder for the card that it laughs at while still damaging the player and regenerating hp each turn.

Quite a few counters and ways to deal with him plus practically useless level 1 and level 2. Of course his level 3 will be pretty buff. That's how bombs work in this game.

Enerfy prison, metasculpt (and he is very blockable and dies after a while, also free to play card). 2 electro nets and he isnt dangerous (also exist many similar cards, won't mention these), dreadbolt, touch of blight, frozen solid, botanimate, natural selection (hard to play, but in combination with photobomb or echowisp), chrogias (obviously), xrath, dreadknight of varna, blight walker, doomwing, dire drake, scourgeflame sorcerer, soul drinker (and the opponent gets some problems), //Edit// utanti bolt ofc, takes 2 to kill but 1 stops it for a while at least, and seems like i missed Grave Pact //Edit//
if you can: Arboris, grove dragon and Forge guardian Omega (so much better than chrogias when they gets out).
So yeah, i'm just gonna keep my earlier wording "And he still has a ton of spells that completly negates him, as do most cards"
And this time i took the time to include creatures that stops him to.
fact is even if you manage to level up the few cards needed ... you still need to catch one in your hand before it kills you so you need 4 dreadbolts leveled for every 1 crog as a example. just to catch in your hand what you need to stay alive
level 1 is forplay and feeling out level 2 is when the game starts for damage really.. so crog 1/1 is not to big a deal
level 2 crog is 0/15 thats not that bad actually you can get 2 blocks out of that easy which is perfect for reaching the next level anyway
and then o look level 3 OP which has no real counter other then a control deck filled with all the cards everyone listed ,hell even a deck full of the cards needed may NOT draw a Level 3 required in time
Personally I find it very odd that you have to 'level up' removal at all. In games like mtg, swords to plowshares and terror were very simple. A low cost targeted removal that works just as well on a 1/1 as a 20/20. Its a 1v1 exchange and the player who drops the creature has the advantage of being able to try to protect it, combo it, or attack with it before removal is drawn.
Yes it would be a pain for a person to level up a something from its weak stages only to have it smote with a level 1 removal but the attacker still has the advantage unless say.... your removal explodes the target and deals its damage to your enemy.
I'd like to see some something like.... Level 1 - destroy a target, your enemy gains its power as life and creatures in that lane gain defender until end of turn. Level 2- Destroy a target, your enemy gains its power as life Level 3 - Destroy a target.
It also opens up the option for some of the more legendary cards to have say "This card can not be targeted by level 1-2 spells" as an ability rather then a restriction on the spell itself. thus making the legendary 'stronger' while not weakening low level spells themselves

Half of those aren't even counters, they are ways for you to die horribly.
Nobody in their right minds should be playing cards like touch of blight, frozen solid, or natural selections.

lol, you forgot that if you play 10 pulsemages that will also neutralize it because that is a "counter" lmao...
what?, why would you loose by playing those cards? don't see any problem with choosing maybe 2 of the types and playing them if needed, they won't in any way make you die horrible. not any more than NOT HAVING them would...
I never said that all of those cards were "insta-clear-the-enemy-field"-cards (and if you want a aoe-dreadbolt, sure. Try to convince me it will be a good addition), only that they are ways to stop strong cards if played correcly and with the right deck.
"Frozen solid", it might not be the best card for any decks i play with. but i listed counters and it makes it possible for a lv1 Chrogias to kill a lv 3, that's counter, right? "touch of blight", it's a really strong card in a defencive deck. "natural selection", a strong card in echowisp decks (and with photobomb).
Most of these cards isn't strong on their own, but require combination play. Having a plan. And that is the concept of a card-based game, right? learning how to combine or chain cards to get the maximum effect out of them. It's not like savants are that strong on their own, even they require lower leveled cards.
~~
And no, 10 pulsfires would not counter since they take 10 cards to put out. while the list i made stops him with only 1 or 2 cards (or in some cases combination plays). witch is also the cost of playing chrogias.
10 cards to stop him is just a plain stupid idea... And if that's your best idea, you should probebly revise a bit imo.

It was obviously OBVIOUSLY not a serious suggestion as a counter.
I don't even think you understand what a counter is.
If you have to play 2 cards to remove one card, that is not a counter. Even with blight walker you may remove the card but you're also taking some 30 damage. You're not equal in the exchange at all. Metasculpt so you can feed it 2-4 more minions at lvl 3. All he needs to do is put breakthrough back on and that is a common. And while you're focused on taking that out he is maintaining board control elsewhere.
And what are you gonna do, stack cards that weak counter chrogias in the chance that he gets played? No... no one is going to do that. And when chrogias does get played it is by random chance that you get the card you need to counter it.
