Nope, sorry....I am afraid you wont be experiencing the same. See, this is exploration in a "safe" environment, gathering clues to solve the motive of the game. With fun/funny elements in certain occasions. Kinda like a 1990s Zork game (ONLY) with simple puzzles. Unfortunately, first person games nowadays have to have elements of insanity, murder, drug use, "Hollywood style drama", I am not sure what else..... but you wont be experiencing the same. Montague's Mount is probably the most similar to this game however, Montague's Mount is not straighforward, solving puzzles in Montague's Mount, requires a lot of planning and walking. Montague's Mount is lovely, but not in the same way. Montague's Mount is the aftermath of a horror story that will leave you very sad.
Perhaps Drizzlepath is another game with the same atmosphere, but it is so boring nothing really happens, just you go from point A to point B and there you're done with the game.
I was going to suggest this as well.... perhaps a good game for a follow-up. But so short, it's sad when you finish it.
There are games, that are GOOD in all sense of the word. Coming from a person who spent hours typing commands to fight a troll "one that your imagination had to imagine" like the Zorks... where many more hours went into solving strategy puzzles (Double Fanucci). But again, not the adventure games many of us grew up with.
Another issue I have, most of these games have NO PREQUEL nor SEQUEL, there is no history before or after. Or they don't have a history at all. (The Room AND The Guest come to mind). So when the game ends, it's really over.
