Don't do this
You had a choice.

Either release less content or introduce a new monetization scheme. And you chose the worst possible option.

I mean your recent "new" content has been sub-par at best so I wouldn't lose anything with having any less of it. The robots. The upgrade system. The abomination. Pretty much every single update has had something to gripe about ever since the 2017 winter update.

If you SERIOUSLY want to go down this route, then you should have the spine to make this a free to play experience. If not that, then AT LEAST remove the insidious "zedconomy" entirely. I mean it didn't work out anyways so why even have it in there anymore?

Sort it out you silly buggers.

And what was that one developer spotlight with the guy that had worked in the company for 6 months :D I honestly couldn't help but laugh.

*EDIT*

Okay I just found out you only get 1 weapon and 5 skins for that 10$...

I mean wow. Just wow. The utter nerve to ask that much money for such a minor addition. This will not fly Tripwire. I gave you the benefit of the doubt to AT LEAST give us 2 weapons (which honestly wouldn't have been enough) for that 10$ but you couldn't even manage that.

I hope this doesn't make you any money what so ever. Step on a lego or something.

agree. Id be for less content than being forced to pay $10 dollars for 1-2 weapons

yes forced to pay in the context if you don't wanna play roullete (to see if the ball lands on the color/number range/even or odds/number title you choose) to see if the player(s), at least one, has the new weapons from the shared content.

Dont buy the new content then? Or if you play with friends then have one of you buy it so that you can all have the weapon (if its shareable) when you play together. Or rely on others getting it. But it doesnt look like that sort of "optional/sharing" model is bring in enough revenue.

Ultimately if you want to help support the game, you can. If you dont think it worth it, then you dont have to. Eventually if not enough ppl stump up enough $$$ then I cant see TI having much choice other than to provide "minimal" support for the game. So its a lose/lose situation at the moment.

That's the thing though is i have been supporting them. I bought almost all the dlc character and cosmetic skin packs. Every now and then i have bought a key or 2 to open a crate or usb. All in the hopes that they wouldnt include any paywall weapons.

Hate to point out that 1 person spending money hasnt been enough it seems. Hence the reason for the change. If they need $10,000 per event to resource the necessary staff and you spend 20-30$... then 500ish more ppl need to do the same. Thats every event.

At least you can say youve done your bit. Which is more than me. Ive probably spent a few $ on market items.

I won't even see those new weapons because I play with a friend who will not be purchasing those weapons, as won't I. Won't feel bad about it at all though!
I feel like it's not unfair to sell new guns. Maybe because I'm not a competitive player, I don't see it as being the same as in Fortnite or battlefield. I would consider buying a new gun for real money. But I'd sooner buy a new boss battle. Game could use a couple more bosses but that's another topic.

Sell us bosses. One person on your squad has the boss purchased then there is a chance you will fight him.

I'm not a competitive player either and I don't want this game to go down this route. Haven't played this game consistently in years mainly because there's no interesting content. If they go through with this I won't be bothering with this game anymore.

Even with the bosses, I feel like they have done a pretty poor job. The patriarch is from the first game, but at least it looks different this time. Hans is the only original creation among the current 4 bosses and he's been in the game from the start. The rest of the 2 bosses can just bugger off if you ask me. Nothing original or slightly interesting about them. So what's next? King Siren? No. Taking their current pricing they'd ask 10$ for that too! Nobody should be buying this crap!

No matter what they do, if they make paid shared content I wouldn't get to experience it anyways because of what I stated earlier.

Drop new zeds, bosses and official maps from the lineup on content updates. Boom. That should be plenty of room for the income to stabilize.
Most people only care about getting new weapons, balance changes and maybe gamemodes anyways, and the majority of people seem to just prefer community maps over official ones.

This would work too! I mean I only play the endless mode in custom maps anyways so it would do no harm to me if they just dropped those entirely. I don't even want to see new zeds from these developers because they've shown time and again they can't make them interesting.

They announce the Matriarch when they put in E.D.A.R.S. They should finish her as the last boss. Seasonal maps are fine and Official maps shouldn't be dropped entirely but slowed down a bit focusing on minor patch ups with proper bug fixes as well!

If they do make another boss then they should at the very least make it so that it isn't random which boss you get. You can't currently gear up for the upcoming boss because it could be anything. They should just make it so that in a specific map you would always get a specific boss. In survival anyways. In endless it doesn't matter that much I think. :cindersskull:

Up to this point I believed you would at least get 2 weapons for that 10$ but I guess I was wrong. There is no good reason to ask that amount of money for 1 weapon. I hope nobody goes and buys this nonsense.

this is the worst timeline so people will buy anyway

Totally agree but.... there probably are ppl where $10 is nothing. And will probably spend it for their shiny new bauble. There just needs to be enough of these ppl to make this change worthwhile for the developer and oh yeah.. be willing to do it 3 or 4 times a year..... thats like 30-40$. More than what the base game was worth. Personally would have been okay paying a bit more for the base game and having some of the extra profit put aside for these sorts of core content update. But hey... thats just me.

The objective game mode was frivolous then!? Im not sure how many ppl play that mode once they got their achievements. May as well have held that money back for future seasonal updates imo.

That much is inevitable. Let's just hope enough people can avoid the temptation.
