Quake1 Mission Packs 1,2 and QuakeSpasm
How can I start these games with QuakeSpasm? I need the resolution 1920x1080 and GL-graphic. QSpasm works only with Quake1. Help, please!

Hm try renaming QuakeSpasm into Winquake. Then go to steam, and pick one of the 2 mission packs. And pick Winquake. That should boot it up in the mission pack.

Remember that every source port based on Quake (And not Quakeworld) should have native support for both missionpacks.

Yeah if you already have QuakeSpasm installed in your Steam Quake directory -- the QuakeSpasm executable and all the libraries that it depends on -- then EternallyAries' notion should work.

Delete (or move away) the WinQuake.exe that Steam downloaded. Then rename your QuakeSpasm executable to WinQuake.exe. Now every time you launch Quake or either of the Quake mission packs through Steam, and you pick the first of the four launch options that Steam gives you (plain old "Quake"), then Steam should start up QuakeSpasm.

Or similarly if you replace Glquake.exe with your QuakeSpasm executable then Steam will use that whenever you pick the "GLQuake" launch option. Basically whenever you tell Steam to launch some variety of Quake, it will just start up whatever program has the expected filename.

Or run them manually (without renaming executables) with quakespasm.exe -hipnotic and quakespasm.exe -rogue. This can be done in a command prompt, the Run window, or in a shortcut.

Though in the case of Quakespam, the easiest way would be to just start it normally, bring down the console and type game hipnotic or game rogue to load the mission packs from within the game.

That one way, but what if he wants the Steam overlay? He could still do it in steam though along with the overlay, By adding it as a none steam game. Plus he could also add the -rogue or -hipnotic in the properties.

I still think it be a lot more easier, if he just put it in his Quake folder. And rename it into Winquake. Or if he wants to keep Winquake, for one of those dos feeling moments. He can replace the Glquake. Since its pretty much Glquake, but a more modern feel to it.

Winquake doesn't retain most of the 'dos feeling moments' anyway. It lacks a few things - mainly larger sound spatialization, tweaked modeX video modes (360x200, 320x400 and the like) and that menu fade (which only ONE engine reproduces)
