Darkplaces and Help

Hey guys, I need help.

I have the darkplaces mod, and It's really cool and stuff, but It won't let ,me play Quakeworld servers. I get kicked for using mods. Is there a way for me to bypass it, or unistall the mod?

Have you tried a none QuakeWorld server? That could stop the problem for you.

Gamespy used to be a quick way to join QW servers. I don't know if it exist anymore

There's a difference between the Dark Places program (Quake engine) and the Dark Places mod. You can use the Dark Places program with plain unmodified Quake data files. Most servers should be fine with that.

However, it's not clear exactly what the problem is... what the server is actually complaining about. If you could tell us which servers you're trying and what the exact error is that is kicking you out, someone might be able to give you better advice.

Some servers did/do require that you use a specific kind of Quake engine (like ezQuake) for anti-cheat purposes. But I didn't think that was common if you weren't playing in organized competition.

wait quake servers still exist??? whats quake world??? is there some tiny little quake one community left or something?
