Sentient weapons
I've noticed that when a sentient dies it's weapons drop and don't despawn. Do they do anything or have any purpose?

The real question is why doesn't Lotus look like a flying laser squid?

I'm not too into the lore to be sure, but considering hunhow took a different form to remember the lotus of what she once was, it's safe to assume some, if not all sentients are able to change their form to look like something else.

The sentients have not made an appearance as an npc yet, but if you are referring to the things you fight on the moon, those are what I beleive are attack drones, sort of like [that glowing blue thing you need to scan for the Natah quest but I forgot the name to]. The only other sentient besides the lotus so far is Hunhow. Yes, I know it says they are sentients, but look closer, whenever they are referred to, they are called conculysts and battlysts, not sentients, also the mission claims the FACTION is sentients, and whenever the lotus calls them out, she calls them sentient FIGHTERS, not sentients. Also, the weapons dropped by the sentients can be picked up and by another unarmed (pun intended) enemy or reattached to the owner if it is still alive

EDIT: Just checked the wiki, at the bottom of the page for battlysts, conculysts, and occulysts, they are grouped as Drones, and Lotus and Hunhow are Characters

Hunhow is a brood ship and also looks similar to a drone. You can see a large part of him on shark song at the skybox on Uranus and on the intro cinematic outside the window.

In the dialogue after the SECOND DREAM cutscene your operator is talking to The Lotus about how there was a woman who cared for them on board their ship that went into the Void and I don't remember what they said exactly but something about how they blinded her. Perhaps the body of The Lotus is that woman and the headgear that she wears is a sentient that attached itself to her and is using her body as an avatar? Very thin theory but that's what I got out of the exchange.

What? I had no idea he was a brood ship, or what shark song is (I assume you meant shark wing?), but from all the exchanged, I thought he was a sentient, as he is not classified as a ship of any sort, but as a character, same as the lotus. If you thought brood ship as in that he drops in the drones, throughout the exchanges, you find that the sentient drones are parts of hunhow's conciousness.

Lotus was disguised as a human specifically as a spy to take over the tenno apparently

Brood Ships are different from the carrier ships iirc, considering how he put himself inside the War sword during the second dream, he might be able to become something like energy and infuse himself inside a form of a ship, which means he mainly took the form of a brood ship I believe, then again War being made from his remains might be the reason for that. Just my theory though, but I'm very sure he was a brood ship.

Well, I can beleive that, unless we are told otherwise, this is now what I will think of when hunhow is mentioned. Thanks. also, best we don't go off on this tangent, due to the initial question already answered. If you want to discuss more, make another thread or something i guess

Nah I don't want to discuss more, just decided to tell you something about what the other sentients might also look like, or at least brood ships like Hunhow himself. But yeah, the thread can be left alone now I believe, if someone really wants to properly discuss about lore another thread can be made.

Well, wiki is edited by same warframe players, they can make assumptions or mistakes as we are

Those weapons that were dropped from dead Sentients can be used by other sentients, like Conculyst can pickup Battalyst's weapon

not sure why you would restate it, well, I probably do, since not many people like reading text walls, so yes, this
