I think it only increase its "slashing/melee" range, as in when you swing the Redeemer, Nvm, the charge attack range is actually affected by reach mod.
You're sayign the gun shot's damage doesn't fall off no matter the range? Thanks i had no idea!
I made mistake, there is maximum range, but from my experience using it I see no dmg fall off that I can tell.
I am testing now, i think the pallets that it shoots spread, thus making the damage fall off at long range because the pallets miss the target.
Unless you are still in stealth, you gain a x4 stealth dmg multipler according to the wiki thus boosting dmg. Plus its silent and got punch through.
the redeemer is imh the most powerfull melee weapon in the game, if correctly modded, and can take you through a sortie 3 assassination mission with annoying conditions even in solo mode (for most of the bosses at least). keep in mind though that you will need some formas in it to get your portable deathstar - though leveling the weapon is easy if using loki or ivara (or invi-ash if you want to) and doing 3-4 solo spy runs on sedna with it, stealth killing everything in there without any affinity booster.
definitiv my favorit weapon, even though the "normal" melee behaviour kinda sucks and the "back-blast" of the charged shot can have some annoying effects too (blasting up explosive barrels or alerting enemies too close to you).
Could you tell me your build please? I still haven't decided what i want and i still have 0 forma, so i would appreciate it :)
primed pressure point, primed reach, primed fury, spoiled strike, fever strike, shocking touch, molten impact and north wind.
you can arrange the damage mode in which order you like/need or change them out for the dual dmg mods if you want a status build - therefore, i would advise putting the formas not in for the damage mods, but for the rest (especially if you use the primed variants of them). you could go for a crit build, but i found that being able to one shot most enemies not require more critical chance (also, don't let the 5% crit chance fool you - it is NOT what gives you crits when using charged shot. read the wiki page more details about that). an other idea for the redeemer build is a focus on channeling - i find this nice for killing sortie 3 bosses in a few hits (hello, vay hek ^^) - carefull though about the energy costs.
Your build is a lot like mine, i actually just finished maxing my Redeemer after the 2nd forma and i think i will stick with this build:
Bullet dance - Pressure Point - Fury - Fever Strike - Shocking Touch - Buzz Kill - Spoiled Strike - Molten Impact - North Wind
I've tried multiple stuff on the simulacrum as well, this gave me pretty much the best results.
Thanks for sharing as well, looks pretty good to me :D but i think i will stick with my build, especially because i don't want to forma it even more :P
