Magus Lockdown on Eidolon

Is it still possible to use Magus Lockdown on Eidolons? I've been able to inconsistently connect it while it still has any number of synovias (I know this does no damage), but not after I destroy all of them. Any ideas why?

I've tried void dashing basically everywhere around the Eidolon but I know that you have to dash somewhere near its legs to connect it.

This was never possible in my experience.

I just killed a Teralyst, and this time I was able to consistently connect LD to it after destroying all synovia, but it seemed to deal no damage. Guess it was patched.

It works once per phase. But it does nothing but make him sparkle for a moment.
