Map transistion screen not appearing

Hi, I've recently started playing Doom with mods; got brutal doom and ZDL launcher to play it and ever since then the only Doom game I have that will display the map during stage transistion is the first game. Everything else (Doom sequels, Heretic, and Hexen) do not.

It's not a big deal so much as it's strange and I like seeing the maps between stages. Really confused, though, as I just assumed it was a glitch with ZDL, but I don't run either Heretic or Hexen through it because of another amusing glitch where I start as the marine with the assault rifle from Brutal Doom.

Any one know how I can fix this?

Have separate installations instead of merging them all into one? (DOOM + DOOM II).
Use something other than ZDL, such as PrBoom?
