I knew KOEI would screw this up somehow. I only hope they don't screw up too much.
Yup not buying. Moving on now yall take care.
"Will multiplayer continue to be used?"
Ishikawa: "No, I'm sorry, but this time it will be single-player only. It's difficult to set up a dedicated server for a work of this size and let people play multiplayer, and I don't think it's very practical these days to go to a friend's house and play with them."
I'm sure vast majority of the people that used the 8 player feature in original ROTK8 was so player can just control 8 characters at once, which makes things far more interesting since AI kind of sucks.
the 8 player mode in ROTK8 had VERY practical use. As a game designer, failure to see the appeal of that feature says a lot about Ishikawa, and how worthless he is as a game designer.
Either he is too lazy to play ROTK8 to understand it properly, or too stupid to understand what was the appealing features of ROTK8, either way he is worthless.
It's like someone who is designing a car says they've removed power window control for passenger window, saying most people are single these days and they drive alone, and thought it was unnecessary.
Whether the customer uses the feature or not, removing existing feature should not be done without considerable thoughts as it means taking value away from customer.
You must give the customer reasonable replacement (Like going from floppy disk to cd to online), or significant price drop if function is removed, or at least good freaking explanation.
That quote alone was enough evidence that Ishikawa does not have qualification to be directing any games. That quote was like a bus driving saying "What was the brake again?"
Examples of Technology that has been around for years is Parsec and the newer steam's "Remote play together" which would render Ishikawa statement useless and infuriating.
We have the internet, we are all connected, we can play with friends in couch co-op games in another country all together and we have for years.
So they make a remake and leave out the best feature of the game? And then they make the battle maps smaller also...
I used to have so much respect for them. I already played their games starting in the early 90s with "Bandit Kings of Ancient China", played it with my neighbour. Have been playing the original RTK VIII with him for a few decades now (without the PUK)... :(
