Product code not working
I put in the product code correctly (triple check it every time) yet I get and error that the code is invalid or that the profile cannot be signed in to LIVE. I use the same account as my XBox LIVE account . Please help, I don't want my money to go to waste

I have the exact same problem... i want my money back from this. i was looking it up on microsoft and the microsoft games for windowslive is shutdown....... thats why you cant connect to it to download the game...... apparently you have to register the key with them..... maybe im missing something but thiss is a bunch of BULL$#!T.... i love the ace combat games and this is a big let down.

windowslive is not shutdown. Only rumour has it MS will shut it down in july 2014 because the AOE online servers will come to an end. That said, MS has not confirmed windowslive will be terminated by the said time.

I only purchase this game (DVD retail version and keys) a few days ago with no problem in relation to windows LIVE activation. I think you should contact Steam support team for activation issues. Obviously, as far as i know, only those who bought this game from Steam have recently been faced with this problem.

Like a Steam login - all Games for Windows Live CD keys that you receive must be registered to a single Games for Windows Live account.

It would seem you need to contact Microsoft for a new key. Unacceptable. The sale was made through Steam. Valve - as the merchant - has a responsibility to provide the correct product they are advertising upon sale. To simply take your money and point you in another direction is quite honestly rediculous. Talk to MS, see what they have to say.

Edit:

I have personally spoken to MS and they tell me they cannot help because - not only do they not have access to their own key database - but that valve issued the key so it is their problem.

The guys at microsoft support have told me they will replace my key, and they will email me when they can. I'll keep you guys posted.
