WIN32 BogEnt [Susp] Virus?
I was downloading the Update just minutes ago and I received an alert from my Virus software that WIN32 BogEnt [Susp] is a virus and it has been removed from my machine.

From what i read the programmers in the CoH2 team are capable of fixing this but have done nothing, this has been an issue for years The programmers in the CoH2 team need to squash the bug causing this problem instead of talking about other ppl´s software which obviously will not do anything to fix the issue. There is nothing wrong with my AntiVirus software and this is probably not a true virus i understand this but seeing this has been going on for years can the developers please get the bug fixed and stop instructing people to change their Antivirus software.

Get a better AV!

AVI is just fine, this should be fixed.

AVG/Avast have done this years for Steam - they really should fix their software. But as an user of F-Secure I must say it's the worst when finding false positives. Not just on Steam.

Sorry, seeing as you mention CoH2 team which game are you talking about?

LMAO !

If you are going to chastise a game or its devs because of your AV program , at least be smart enough to post in the correct game forum.

Sorry that was a mistake, i pulled some of the imformation from another post after researching the issue and used some of the information here and didn't notice the abbreviation, honest mistake sorry buddy. Prior to posting this i did some homework and posted this hoping others that might incounter this will see one, it's not a virus and two, maybe the developers can fix this, not sure why my Antivirus elerts me to a virus but there must be a reason. I can only Imagine it's because of it's activity maybe working or acting like a virus, i understand it's not a virus which i stated in my posting above and added it to the exception list. If others having this happen come here and search the discussion they will see this and understand it's not a virus and move on. But I do believe that if it's activity maybe working or acting like a virus you can't expect a Antivirus developer to change their code for one issue with a game they don't have anything to do with nor should people state that a particular Antivirus software suck and everyone that owns it should replace it because of one file, that is just ignorant in my opinion. What ever that virus definition is that is tossing an elert out if removed could actual cause a virus of a real threat with simular activity to be missed I would think. Not as this is a big issue if people are told this file is OK and then put it on an exception list but if possible why not just correct this isuue and fix it at it's point of origin which would be the game.

As far as the people above jumping all over me for forgetting to remove that abbreviation which is an honest mistake and Trolling postings for the opportunity to chastise and insult people I don't even pay them any attention, they show up in most everyone's posting. This posting was to alert the developers to see if they wanted to address it and fix it and for others that were experencing the same issue after the update so they understand it's not a virus. As far as i am concerned and the way i conduct myself in the discussion areas is if I have an issue I post a discussion, or post a reply to some one elses discussion of that same content. What I don't do is read through all the posting that don't pertain to my issues and then make snarky remarks to people, as far as i am concerned if i am not having an issue with a file that gave me a virus elert and I see a posting about it i am just moving on, anything else would be considered Trolling.

Great game great job by the way, really enjoying this, Thank You!

You still haven't mentioned which antivirus you use. The developers can't do much if they don't know that. Most antivirus programs don't report false positives on this game, so give the developers some information to work with.

Repeating what madkine said. It is the antivirus program reporting that there is a virus. In truth, there is no virus. Its just the mistake of the program. If you say what antivirus program you use then the developers can send them a sample to prove to that company that the game is clean.

OK I didn't realize it made a difference what Antivirus anyone was using so I didn't mention it. I am using Avast Premier. I use to use AVG and had lots of problems with that so I did an internet search on the top ten internet security programs and Avast Premier was in the top ten and had a good rating. I have been using it for 8 months and it is more stable and works great from what i have experienced. AVG would commonly become unstable and then not work to the point I would contact their customer service and they would instruct me to re-install it and upon doing so it would work good for some time until once again it would happen all over again, that's why i replaced it and I haven't had the issue with Avast Premier. I use to use Norton but to be honest Norton doesn't seem to be any better then what i am currently using now.

I use Avast on my 2 surfing computers :), but no antivirus on my gaming computer.

Avast! scanned my PC and then deleted the exe for this game?!

It's a false positive from the heuristic analysis due to way our hotloading works.

We've submitted the files to Avast for scanning and whitelisting.
