heya maxx

it was good to see you out (as short as it was for you)

i never did get to notice, was this happening each time the track itself was changed or did it happen even if the exact same race was run twice in a row ?

doesnt matter if its the same track or different, it constently losses connection, if i get into a game il get one race then lose connection
its always happened, other games are fine and ive got a 50mps internet connection.

Wired or wireless? Losing connection is usually from a ping timeout. Because either your connection is intermittent or your pc is taking to long to load data.

To fix, turn down graphics options so maps and cars load faster and if you havnt already get a wired connection not wireless.

im wireless but pretty fast, il trydropping the graphics a bit but there already on medium

There some tracks ( like Forest 3 and Mixed 3 ) with a lot grass that can take 40+ seconds to load, if have grass set to high or ultra. I drop my grass setting to medium now so I don't get timed out online.

Its not the speed thats the problem. E.g im on 2mb/s but wired with no problems.Game doesnt need a high download speed as you only recieve tiny bits of data. But stable ping is important. Wireless can have hickups and packet loss aswell. Depending on how bad the packet loss is,sever might think youve left and boot you.

so i swapped over to the ethernet and all seems to be fine, think my wifi card was causing too much ping fluctuation and it was assuming id timed out.
seems copper cable is the way to go

I'm experiancing the same thing.
ok

same question (this is kinda important for ALL of us to help you guys !

see maxx was out today and for SURE i could see he was loosing connection more often when we changed tracks !

and FOR SURE one thing i can do as admin is to change tracks less and pick tracks that i know are less likely to cause the dreaded "ping out"

i'm kinda mr. "low budget" myself...

so i actually have a LOT of tricks to help (lower all settings, stick to servers with a better ping, try to avoid tracks that are overly complex (ovals seem to work for almost everyone)....stuff like that

BUT

i suspect we have a NEW bug here guys !

info needed on exactly WHEN AND HOW crash is happening

ok, ok, scrap that... changed over to ethernet and its better but still not right, if the track changes then more often than not i will lose connection. ive got 150mpbs wifi card and my modem is in the same room, literally 8ft away...
this is extremely annoying i get one maybe two races, track changes and i "time out"
tried adjusting a few things with steams network settings and checked for things online but im out of ideas and clearlly the ethernet cable hasnt helped

i can join any server, it will got to the lobby fine, usually the first race will load fine, watching my network activity i can see its reciving data, then as the track is about to load it will come up connection lost. weirdly it shows the track overview in the back ground so the track must have loaded but somehow ive timed out

Maybe you're taking too long to load the track,so its booting you. Try lowest graphics options, see if it improves at all.

well i seem to have fixed my problem... i upgraded to a gtx 970 exoc from my gtx 690
it would seem my old 690 was struggling to load the textures so was timing me out...
since fitting the new 970 ive been playing for the last few hours without any issue and not one ping timeout.
real happy to hear that maxx

was good seeing ya out today :)
