game seems to be basicly broken

Genrally I love RPGs,(NWN2, Mass effect , fallout,) so given all the hype about BG I picked up this for £15. I considered getting the Witcher 2 enhanced version for the the same price but made this stupid call. So the problems:
-In general lags at between 20-30 FPS on a reasonably new machine
-drops to 1-2 FPS when spells are cast
-and cutscenes stutter and lag
-steam overlay causes it to crash when closed

So currently all in all feeling a bit ripped off. Tried playing it but it basicly kills any enjoyment having to stride through the choppy frame rate.

ironically the old version of bg runs better than this "enhanced" one -_-....it' better to buy this game on GOG

Have you tried changing the compatability mode? Computer/main disc drive(eg. C) /
Program Files(x86) / Steam/Steamapps / Common/Baldurs Gate Enhanced Edition/BGEE(right click on icon) / Properties / Compatability tab / click box for 'running this program in compatability mode. Hope it helps!

It works perfect on my computer, and I am even playing it multi-player. I have noticed a huge lag when spells are cast on my ipad. You have to like old style RPGing. It's not Witcher 2 or anything like it. My and my friend are having a great time playing it.

using compatability reduces the lag when using spells a little. Thanks for help.

Anybody else have screen resolution issues? When I start the game I can only see about the top quarter of the screen... It's as if the monitor is too small to display the rest of what's there if that makes any sense...
