Realistically, though, it's going to be at least several years before we might see another fantasy 4x from them. In addition, there's no telling whether it would be set in the same world or not (although personally, I hope so).
As it is, Stardock already has a number of games in the pipeline (such as GalCiv4 and Ashes 2) that have priority, since they're the ones that sell best. Even if a Fallen Enchantress sequel is planned, I can't imagine it would be out until sometime after 2025.
I'd love to be proven wrong, though. :)
I agree, but I really want to see something NEW, not more remakes of Master of Magic. There are some decent, original space 4x games that deviate significantly from Master of Orion, but Dominions aside there isn't half the innovation on display in fantasy 4x...
Wizards & Warlords just hit 1.0 though, that's worth a look and a bit different to the usual fare.
Thanks for the recommend on W&W... I'll take a look though it looks a little rougher than I like. Would love to see something closer to AA or AAA quality come out. =)
I mean if Jeff Vogel from Spider Web Software can kick start a game called Queens Wish that looks like garbage from the 90s lol to raise a hoard of money why cannot Stardock since they obviously can make better looking visual games.
Divinity Original Sin and Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2 went the Kickstarter way I don't understand why Stardock cannot unless they lack the skill to setup a campaign or the desire to.
The company that made Wasteland 2 was already a successful company prior. I don't view it as begging it is a form of showing support sorta like how this thread was started a different kind of kickstarter message except Stardock won't get paid like they would if they launched a proper kickstarter campaign. It would actually boost their reputation as a even more successful company.
The main guy at Startdock says he is sorta like a one man army well a kickstarter would properly fund more talent to deliver a even better Fantasty 4x Stardock game. A proper sequel in my opinion honestly demands it to ensure enough money is raised to make it a worthwhile sequel.
The only company I would agree with would be Blizzard since they do not even have their games on steam at all and to me that is a real successful company so I guess steam makes the other companies that need steam a beggar company that sounds like the logic you just shared with me but said in a different way. You should think before you speak.
