Does any one know where to find texture mods compatible with steam doom?

Inside any 'patch'-WAD, PWAD or *.WAD that includes textures.
If you're after a texture pack then you'll most likely need to 'upgrade' to a Doom Source Port.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/dooms-19-winx64/ can get PrBoom up and running in 1 to 2 minutes on most computers.

There are other Source Ports available, I just haven't gotten around to adding them yet.

The Doom community isn't as big today as it was back in 1993.

DoomSeeker is also a good resource to get, and check out the DoomWorld Forums, etc.
