Game Crashes on Startup
I have been playing for awhile with no problems. Now suddenly the crashes when I hit Play with this error:

System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'Cadenza.NativeDevices.dll': The specified procedure could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007F)
at Cadenza.Paragon.Devices.Oculus.Oculus_Init()

at Cadenza.Paragon.Engine.<>c__DisplayClass6.<Run>b__3()
at Cadenza.Paragon.Engine.RunLoop(String name, Action action)

I have tried reinstalling the game with no effect. Anyone seen this?

I get the same exact crash and error, but I'm on an old Win XP machine. I can try it on a Win 7 machine in the house later, but bedtime now.

We just added the NativeDevices dll, in the last update, so it's possible that it introduced an overlooked dependency. Could you try installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable?

Also, it might be worth verifying the game's cache, which can be done easily with this link: steam://validate/227800/

Thanks for the reply. I tried installing Microsoft Visual C++ and just got a message saying that it could not install because I already had a later verion on my computer. I also verified the games cache which did not work. The game still crashes.

What version of windows are you on, gusrx? Also, have you tried running the Retrovirus.exe directly from it's installed folder, rather than from the Steam client?

I have Windows XP, SP3 Version 2002. Yes i did try running it directly from the folder, still with the same crash error

Found the issue: one of the libraries we depend on had an update that broke Windows XP compatibility. Luckily, it's easy to fix and we will issue a patch soon. Thank you for reporting the issue and proving the info that led to a solution.
