A Bit Dissapointed...
As a game dev myself, I fully well understand, making a game is not easy work. It's obvious a lot of time has been put into this game, it definitely shows- the game is fun and fairly lengthy, giving you a lot to chew on.

But I played this around half a year ago or so, and some the levels made my computer crawl- you could tell it needed optimization work (I mean, its Tron-like graphics- there is no reason this game cannot perform better on my system when I can play other modern games just fine). As well, there were a handful of bugs that just ruined the experience, some of which you can find in that discussion thread. And a number of Z-buffer fighting issues in the levels which tells me you have a lot of overlapping geometry- and all of this together makes the game feel very rough around the edges.

I don't know how after half a year, many of these bugs still exist, when some of them seem like easy fixes and would help the playability of the game out emmensely. I feel like maybe the focus of the dev team might have been on the editor, which makes sense for the longeivity of the game, but I think you need to walk before you can run.

You guys are seriously shooting yourself in the foot by not polishing and cleaning up this game- this should be your #1 priority. This is the Pareto Principle here- you got 80% of the way there, now you need to push that extra 20%.

This game has so much potential, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game to anyone at the moment, and probably couldn't until a lot of bug squashing was done. And hopefully by then, the game can still hold my interest, and the interest of others.

Agreed.
I gave up on the game waiting for the performance to be fixed, and nobody was playing multiplayer.

Wasn't there an optimization patch released in October?

I haven't played it before October, but the game plays smooth on a 6 years computer (Core2Quad Q6700 / 6 GiB RAM) and 3 years old graphics card (GeForce GTX 285).

That seems to be the problem - the game only runs well on certain setups, regardless of how powerful they are.
I'm playing it on a v high spec pc without issues, but that's ok by me, what's really the bargain here is that it cost me £3.74 to buy, you can't complain at that price and espically for all the optionals that you can choose to do or collect

As orb said, there was a performance patch in October. The performance used to be heavily impacted in areas where there were a lot of Creep Growth tendrils. This impacted cards with poor vertex fill-rate more than others - leading to some cards performing drastically worse. We completely re-wrote how Creep Growths are rendered leading to performance improvements of as much as 500% in our test cases.
game run fine here

It hardly did anything for the performance on my machine, unfortunately.

There are some areas later on in the game- like the Sun Dial, that one windy level, and the BIOS at the very end, where my mid-range machine still comes to a crawl.

I'm going to imagine the Sun Dial might be because of how the grass is rendered with that parallax effect- I've heard that parralax effect can eat up texture calls. Otherwise, I see no reason why any of those areas would still bog down.
