Game crashes to desktop after fullscreen set! :(

I set the video mode to fullscreen, customized other things in the meantime, went to run a map it closed and sent me back to the desktop!

Afterwards I just set the video mode and exited the game, as I noticed that my settings had not been saved, I just modified it and exited.

And now I can't even enter the menu, the game closes! What can I do to resolve this?

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\XXXXX\227780\local.
Open PersistentSymbols.ini with Notepad++.
Go to lines 301-304 to change your screen mode and resolution.

Bonus: If you have a monitor with a high refresh rate and you want to get high FPS, playing in windowed mode unlocks your frame rate, while fullscreen forces a 60 FPS cap. You can enable windowed and enter your native resolution to play in fake fullscreen (basically borderless) with unlocked frames.
