The game is listed as adventure. from the trailer it look just like an animated quest with action scenes. what a load of crap.

maybe that is because the nostalgia to you was at the time of your birth so it isn't nostalgia at all, it's more like history at that point. Don Bluth did a fantastic job, this came out in 1983 mind you, the only color we had was pac man, donkey kong & frogger, space invaders and asteroids were still top notch games in black and white at that time.

was a fantastic time in arcade gaming history, it was why the games we have now are the way they are, you aren't considering that, it was because of this game that we broke into something other than flat animations.

I have no disrespect to the innovation this game brought in the day but the game genre tag is misleading and makes people like me think it's a quest (which was a popular genre at the day and what made me buy it). it doesn't mention that the entire idea of the game is button-combo-mashing. that's what I'm ranting about.

All you had to do was google Dragon's Lair and plenty of videos would have popped up showing the style of game play this is.

You should have known what you were buying. I get it, you're mad because you spent money on a game when you did not know anything about it. That's the risk you take when you don't do any research on a game before purchasing it, while solely buying it based on a trailer. You can't blame the Steam store for calling it an "adventure" game, lol. You can only blame yourself.

The game was never really that good to begin with as at the time of it's release it was more about the technology, which made it fascinating to play. I recommend in the future, whenever you are thinking about purchasing a video game, just use google and make sure you do a little research on it. This way you won't buy something that is totally different than what you were expecting.

I gave up on the game and moved on to other games. it's been 4 years since I posted this and didn't expect anyone reviving this thread.
What I wanted to say with my post was that I just felt kinda cheated because I had a different expectation from the game judging by the trailer. I suppose it was wrong to only base my choice on the trailer... but still, there were no hints that it was some quick-time event the entire game.
Oh, and rythm games? yeah I played some but they were music based (Audiosurf, guitar hero, etc') I just didn't click with this game.

There is no adventure unless you click the first move in the video and then click the right move at the end of the video. Then and only then can you pass Dirk and Daphne's story on to your children.
