Headlights won't light up the road

I just bought ETS2, but for some reason headlights doesn't light up the road. When i look from the outside, i can see that the headlights actually work, but the roads are completely dark. I tried the high beams, that didn't work (Before you even say it, yes i did press L twice), I updated my drivers, I messed around with the settings but so far nothing helped. I still have the same issue. Does anyone have a solution for this?

When you enable the high beams, does the blue icon light up on the dashboard?

Press F4 and check your light settings.
Additionally, check your gameplay settings to see if automatic lights and/or automatic high beams are enabled.

If it is during day, then you won't see them. Otherwise you will see them. Might be a mod issue.

i have the same problem since 1.4
deleted game + reinstall -> no results
deleting all mods -> no results
updating graphics -> no results
searched nearly the whole internet and tried everything they say you should try -> no results

If you drive a car in daylight IRL, do the headlights show on the road?
No.
They don't in the game, either, it would be totally unrealistic if they did.
Are you actually turning them on?
Many players do not press the headlight button twice for low beams, and only turn on the sidelights (DRL), Use F4 and turn the headlights on as soon as you start the truck. Do this every time and you will never get a fine for headlight use.
Do they work at night?
Of course they do, on low beam or high beam when you play with no mods. You can fit spotlights as well if you want more light.

i have the same problem when its night the headlights don't work and when i go to third person it shows like a white color box, the headlights show on the truck but nothing just a small dim light even with high beams only on my Scania truck others like Volvo, Mercedes, MAN, DAF and Iveco it works perfectly fine,

That sounds like a mod issue.

Another factor, is that some trucks just have really poor headlights. Not sure which ones, but I was driving a daf earlier that barely lit up the road, got in a Volvo and it was like night and day (pun intended)

I don;t know which ones as they were both quick jobs and I never pay attention to what cheapy trucks I drive.
