Weapons firing is hit or miss...
Generally miss... And I'm not talking about the accuracy...

My weapons actually choosing to fire seems nearly impossible to control. It is not the angle, it is not ammunition, it is simply getting them to DO something...

When they start firing, great. They'll keep at it until the enemy gets out of the arc, or is destroyed, but once they stop firing, it doesn't matter what I do, it doesn't matter what angle I'm at, they will not even move. Then at seemingly completely random times, they will start firing again. But it is far often more they are not firing, than they are.

I know what locking is, I know what weapon grouping is, I know what range is. Or atleast I THINK I do.. What exactly am I missing here?

This is in creative mode.

Thanks for your question. Keep in mind that the whole weapon system is changing next patch, but for the time being, pressing C to lock onto the target, then simply pressing 1 will choose the whole group of weapons (all your weapons) and aim them at the target provided that A) The target is within range, B) The target is within the arc of the weapon, and C) that the weapon would not need to shoot through the ship ( your ship ) at any point in order to hit the target. Common ranges are 20km for kinetic, 35km for missile, and 100km for lasers for patch D10, D11 will be slightly adjusted if I remember correctly.

I hope that helps :)

Thanks for the reply, but no. not really. As I had said. I understand arcs, ranges, locks, groups etc. I am using lasers. My weapons are easily out in the open, and even directly lining them straight up with the enemy will not cause them to fire. Toggling the weapons does nothing, as I've continued to try to toggle. They fire at random times for no explained reason, matching everything that you have said above. Sometimes they fire with the exact same circumstances as times that they don't.

Sorry, I take back that first sentence of it not helping. Weapon system changing next patch is help. Thankyou.

If you're using a laser specifically, it fires for one or two seconds, then has a delay of a few seconds before firing again. I can test out the ship if you'll upload it to the shipyard and post in the comment below.

Yes, I know how the lasers fire. I've had them work occasionally.. I am talking about minutes at a time where they refuse to work.
But regardless, how would I do this upload?

The next patch will come out next week on Monday, at which time you can opt in to download the Development patch. Here's our tutorial on how to download the development patch:

The patch will be live the following week for everyone who plays (April 14th)

Also, are you fighting small ships with your lasers or large ships? Small ships move very quickly and if the laser knows it can't hit the target it will not shoot a beam.

Ok.. Problem solved. It's not a mechanic bug.
I'm using the Hardpoint01 5s, which i know have a terrible 10 degree vertical arc, but the problem is with the way I have them set, it makes it exceptionally difficult to get into the correct arc with the camera... It's a larger ship, so It's often difficult to tell if they're far enough way to be within that 10 d.v arc or if they're too close and above it.

I realized this when I started trying to get a good look at the size of the ships.

New plan. New hardpoints.
