Hulls and their function
I just started playing around with the ship builder tonight. However, I can't make a decent looking ship without using more than one hull (especially with the very limited number of C&C's available currently), but that doesn't feel right. Will my ship function with more than one hull? What is the point of hulls besides containing power subsystems? Is it a normal thing to connect more than one hull?

Depending on the size of your ship, more than one hull is pretty normal, at least in my experience. I've built ships with no hull, or ones with like 300 (Granted i can't actually use those, too resource intensive).

They can be used to have reactors, crew cabins, Kinetic field Generators, Jump Drives, etc, though most of the functions are not implemented as of yet.

You are also aware that you can change the sizes of parts in the module diaglog too, no?

Hulls are everything. Like said above. They sore your cargo, your weapons, your Kim drive, your kinetic field generator, your crew equipment a and many more.

Normally you should only use 1 C&C... It is the command center. Shouldn't have more than one. While the hull is everything else. Your rectors and hallways and all that are into these.

I've always used large, sometimes massive groups of hulls. I just see them as smaller parts for a bigger goal.

Don't think of it as a "hull", per se. They're called modules for a reason. Think of it as, once you've finished constructing your ship, all your hull modules combined make the hull of your ship. Though I have also been having trouble pairing hulls to C&C's (at least the smaller ones) without them looking terrible...

And what's wrong with having more than one C&C? you could think of them as serving different primary functions (at least on larger ships) or as backups.

I didn't say it was wrong. But I think they shouldn't be called C&C but hulls to, execot they have windows. C&C should be a module that we chose to make it. This module would be the center part. And if it gets blown up... Well you're dead. And since you get to choose which one it is I think it's fair enough. And seriously... You wouldn't build a C&C on the exterior side of your ship... It would be too easy to target.

A good example is the Galactica (dam I love that ship and would do anything to see it in real) who's C&C was way hididen behind a lot of armor.

Ok, great! Thanks for all the help.

If you are talking about the different locked-size categories (1,2,3,4, and 5) then yes. If you're talking about the ability to gradually increase the size of an individual part as though it were accomplished through some slider mechanism in the game, then no.
