We have put up the first beta of GalCiv III v3 for testing.

Please put the the access button to ship designer back at top of screen while in game. I really do not like the having to open a shipyard to gain access to ship designer while in game. Other than that The UI looks good. I like how Influence is more defined on mini map. I could not find where to change my civs type of government. There is no option or any way to open or to see it.

Uninstalled 3.0 beta for the reasons above.

This is for 3.0, not for Intrigue.

Giving it a try. The planetary event where you can flood the planet to free the precursor ship stuck in the ice STILL gives you some trifling little piece of junk you could build yourself by turn 20. Please fix this. Make the ship somehow unique, and a bit more powerful. It is not worth ruining the planet to get a dinky little thing that would have trouble surviving combat with a pirate.

Perhaps because of the new extreme planet types, The Perseverance (mercenary colony ship) can no longer colonize barren worlds. The description says desert, and there never was any such thing before. Is there now a desert world it can colonize, and barren is now different?

It certainly used to. Description has always said 'desert', but it was previously able to colonize barren.

I much prefer being able to design my ships while in game with faction or civilization I am making the ships for. Ship designer from main menu doesn't allow me to create ships specifically for my own custom civilizations but rather by race. I have never used the ship designer from main menu and I would really rather not start now.

They probably removed the button to streamline the main interface for the majority of players who don't need access to the ship designer so often. Any time I used it I always went through the shipyard anyway. Maybe it could be assigned to a hotkey for best of both.

I notice my first interaction with a civ (alterians) and I seemed to be able to understand them without having translator researched.

Make sure you are on the right beta branch and validate game files just in case something went wrong when updating.
