not sure if it is the worst game persay...but it is the only game I have played and really tried to give a chance that I ever got my money refunded for.
.
also I am keeping an eye on The Dead Linger (which will be quite a long while since they are in early alpha).
and State of Decay looks cool too, not sure when that is releasing, I think they are in the approval from Microsoft stage right now.... may be soon, or not...gonna have to see...but looks really promising.
(now on beta)
This forum is a good place to observe when it will be improved, when all the major hate is gone you can tell it has probably improved.
Also this game may release on Steam again once it is in a more finished state.
For me, I came across War Z looking for a new zombie game. I have been doing MMO's for a year, and I love zombies, so naturally, this was a must (I felt Arma II with Zombies was about as weak as the fanboys that crone on about it). My boyfriend wasn't feeling this game- he even told me, "Professionally, it looks like crap".
I didn't care- I had never been with an MMO in it's natal stage, so I was excited to share the experience with other people. I literally threw an immature little fit to get this game- I was SO passionate about it, and my boyfriend was SO against it. However, two weeks into the game (and even my bf getting addicted to it himself), we unanimously called it quits. Mmmmm, this game is rife with trolls- from the players to the devs. I don't care for how people play, and I don't care for how the devs handle their community. From "accidental" account blocks, to a dwindling amount of updates that NEVER enhanced the gameplay for me or my friends, to downright calling users "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" and "liars". Normally, I could give a sh!t less, but if I'm PAYING (and was STILL willing to pay) for something, don't bullsh!t a bullsh!tter. It was when they introduced the idea of waiting hours (or paying to play- which, I already HAD payed to play- whytf would I pay again?) after deaths to play again. Worst part was I BARELY saw my man or my group. We would start scattered throughout the world, slowly (and stealthily) made our way to a meet-up point. None of us ever made it- an unseen sniper had always been waiting.
And then there are the wall-climbers and loot hoppers. I won't lie, I server hopped like a b!tch, as I felt it was the LESSER OF TWO EVILS (the greater being the rampant Camp Bears laying around) and the only way to hang with some of the bigger beasts in this virtual TrollShark Tank.
I, personally, am waiting for State of Decay. If you haven't heard of it, I HIGHLY suggest you should check it out. It's a single player game (with future co-op planned) that will one day be an official MMO (codenamed Class3 for single and Class4 for MMO). Think "Dead Rising" meets "Saints Row". And going from the War Z community to the SoD community is like heaven and hell- War Z's forums are filled with flamewars and angry posts. Meanwhile, SoD soon-to-be players AND their devs are highly active and very welcoming.
Thank you for taking the time to post a non-flame War Z post. It's been a month since I followed this game, and nothing seems to have changed.
Except people like you are slowly piping up in a non-combative form. Many thanks friend.
