Just to clairify an error Cybergun doesn't own 50% of Arktos
August 15, 2011
"After deal closing and approval Cybergun will own 50% of the Online Warmongers Group Inc."
http://arktosentertainment.com/news.html

Online Warmonger Group was also a company Sergey had some dealings with founding.
http://venturebeat.com/2012/02/01/online-warmongers-founder-on-building-a-balanced-free-to-play-shooter-interview/

Around the same time as the Cybergun deal, Arktos financed Hammerpoint. Then later around Dec. 18th of 2012 Arktos acquires a majority share of Hammerpoint. They also created OP Productions LLC to be the Publisher of The War Z around the same time (go to playwarz.com and scroll to the bottom you will see this- © 2011-2013 OP Productions LLC. Developed by Hammerpoint Interactive).
http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20121218006215/en/Arktos-Entertainment-Acquires-Majority-Stake-Hammerpoint-Interactive

So at that point Cybergun doesn't have anything to do with The War Z other than the fact that they own 50% of the company that worked on The War Inc.

There is some suggestion that Cybergun may be purchasing The War Z or something like that considering their current action to get a "The War Z" trademark. But that may just be them getting the rights to make War Z branded Airsoft guns. I could be wrong about that.

Question.... why on Earth do you have only demos and DOTA2 on your Steam profile and a account made not long ago at all? I'm not making any claims but this surely is worthy of being striking as odd.

I never had steam before I got a new computer for Christmas. All my other computers have been crappy laptops or hand me downs that sucked for gaming. Since I have a very strict budget and I don't pirate games. I'm sticking to demos and free to play game until my budget isn't so restricted. The War Z was one of the games I was thinking of getting since I knew I has getting the computer since Thanksgiving.

You could of kept it in the same thread so all I needed to do was point up. :D Post 21. I also received an email but with emails I like to get the persons authorization to post. I feel its a bit touchy to post someones remark in email with the assumption they felt it was between two people. If he agrees I'll post what Ive received.

No insult intended questioning who you are. It is a bit shall we say uncommon to just join Steams community with just demo games. Leads to speculations as to why a person would do that just to post something on the forum. No harm meant.

Thank you for the reply, not insult was taken. From what I read he stated a connection and not a partnership or ownership to The War Z. He also says that the trademark involves airsoft guns. But I can see that with them claiming an identical trademark with Arktos/OP Productions that people would think that Cybergun owns in part or in whole Arktos. Maybe we'll find out with certainty tomorrow from the Dev Diary.

i've posted more than one link to where cybergun states they own 50% of arktos. and arktos owns both both war inc and war z.

its all bunch of shells all owned by sergey and cybergun. it does not looks like sergey owns cybergun, well unless he owns their stock.
Hannibal 10 ian. 2013 la 15:17
InvaderZim is the man to go to, he did some great research. I just followed leads that led me to Cyberguns website. You will also see a host of PDF files under investment information. They are very candid on ownership, and also that they dont really want to pursue this avenue further. While they didnt technically lose money they did see a huge slip on incoming profits. Something like 2.6 million monthly prior to War Z release to 1.4. Self admitting it was a bad investment.

If you check the first link I posted which states that Arktos sold some of its share of Online Warmonger, not shares of itself. In the second link he states that "I founded Arktos Entertainment Group – my own investment and online publishing company – and bought out the shares of my partners in Void Production LLC". So at this point he has no other partners after far as I know. He then states he talked to some friends that worked on COD and Star Trek Online, and that they wanted to start their own company. Arktos (Sergey) funds thems them and they form Online Warmongers. Later Arktos (Sergey) invest another 5 million into Warmongers. Finally in 2011 Arktos sells some it's shares of Warmongers to Cybergun with Cybergun owning 50% of Warmongers, and Sergey serving as President and Chairman of the Board for Warmongers. Now it's important to understand that shares of Arktos itself was not a part of the deal, and Sergey was/is President and Chairman of the Board for Warmongers along with leading/owning Arktos. So at this point Cybergun has 50% ownership of War inc. Arktos in the same year (2011) finances Hammerpoint, and in December of last year bought majority share of it. Also creating OP Productions LLC to be publisher for the War Z around dec 18th.

Since Cybergun has half ownership of the game engine they are entitled to earnings from The War Inc and the War Z. I imagine Cybergun isn't too happy with what has happened. I imagine that since Arktos has already sold half of one company before, maybe they have/are selling another one again.

We currently do a “sub brand” called War Inc. War Inc is a FTP game, and allows us to put a few $$ of virtual money into the gun box to allow the airsoft player to try the game after he buys the gun. It has been a good tie-in. Our business model uses licenses from real firearms manufacturers (Colt, FN, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, etc.), and then we add the game logo to the outside of the box as added market pull. We plan to do the same with The War Z, even though it is a Fee to Play game—a few $$ of virtual money to help sales for the retailer and for Soft Air of course. Will we have the same results?? We don’t know. We, like game makers, try new things every day. One thing we have done however is clean up the use of trademarked firearms brands in games that are unauthorized. It has helped especially in cases where American brands like Colt have been used in some games AGAINST American soldiers. We have been supported in this by our American firearms manufactures, who are proud of their image as American.

They're purchasing the trademark for their line of air soft guns to cash in on the zombie craze. He's hoping that the war z branding will help.

I'm guessing Paramount rejected their request..

The patent is just a marketing thing to try to sell some airsoft guns.

ok thank you for clearing things up. i tried to google, but there is like hard to follow who owns who. a number of posts that i link are just very confusing and contradict each other it appears. and i certainly dont have any inside information as to what is correct and what is incorrect. so i'm hanging it up and giving it a break. i just does not matter at this point. its sad though since i had fun playing the game. lets hope it works out in the months to come.
