Microphone barely picking up voice

No matter how much i tweak the settings (in game/windows/steam) my voice gets barely picked up and its too quiet, I don't have this problem in any other game using goldsrc engine, any fix?

If you can open the game command console, paste in: voice_maxgain
This number limits the amplitude of the sound input device. You might just need to increase this.

voice_maxgain 10

(Mine is at 15, works quite well.)

You can also turn on voice_loopback to hear yourself while you transmit:

voice_loopback 1
