issue: game just freezes when i attempt to quit via the menu

hi, on the native linux build (i haven't tried the windows build via proton), when i attempt to quit the game by pressing the "quit" button on the menu, the game just locks up.

some additional info:
-i'm running bazzite
-i'm using nvidia graphics
-i'm using a wayland gnome session
